I use the hue system and friends of hue with my SmartThings home automation and it's great I can have it dim or brighten the lights as well. I can also choose what color each individual bulb or strip. It could be a bit brighter but it's still a great item.

I use it for media center above a big screen for a "blue light" to watch movies. I control it via an iPad and a Revolv hub.

Bought this when I bought the starter and have loved it. We just bought a second one to use as ambient lighting behind our tv.

Not something we all need but it is perfect for the hidden light source for which it is used

Cool lights but don't look right where I wanted to use them. Just a little modern look good for some not me

Great addition to my Hue system! 2nd strip I own and its fun to highlight areas.

Work well not as bright as I thought they would be and color range isn't as good as the hue bulbs.

I have several ropes, blooms and bulbs. (16 lights total) plus 3 hue taps. All work as or better than expected. Easy to use and configure, numerous apps available, and supported on any device. The only problem is they are highly addictive. I will be picking up 3 to 4 more ropes and a few more blooms. Great for everyday light or to set your mood. One thing to note, ropes are accent lights, best behind tvs, above cabinets, below media centers etc. Blooms are best at least 12 inches from a wall and are a great accent light. Regular bulbs work great in most lamps and fixtures. Get a starter set for 199. You won't regret it. My wife was annoyed with having to use an app to control the lights for everyday use so I bought a few taps to make the lights bright, warm, nightlight and off. Now she sees the value and is enjoying them almost as much as the kids and I do.

A little light goes a long way. Pros: These lights look great. Cons: They could have been designed to link additional LEDs if needed, the cost is extreme, the power supply system is sort of awkward. Depending upon where and how you mount these lights they will peel away due to the weight of the power supply. I want to buy more but that price is making it hard to do so. Uses: Accent lighting, on stairs, under kitchen cabinets, in windows for holidays and parties, link them with IFTTT and use them to receive notifications for anything. Endless possibilities!

The lightstrips are awesome. I have three Hue lightbulbs and this product works great in unison with them. They actually shine brighter than the bulbs do. Only problem is they are attached to a power cord and even though you can cut them to fit, you can't split them without buying two separate strips. I recommend you simply tape them to a surface if you aren't 100% sure you want them there because it looks like the sticky backing is good for one or two uses max. If you have Amazon Echo I haven't found a way to pair the strips with Echo yet (could be user error, I'm not sure).

I put these for accent lighting under and over my kitchen cabinets. They are great, I love the "alarm" functionally that allows the lights to be turned on and off by schedule. I only have too wishes, I wish the power supply wasn't hard wired into each strip, I've seen other LED kits where you can attach multiple strips together with a connection kit and work off the same power supply. The second issue is when you are able to trim the night to fit, but the piece that cut off is no longer usable..

I purchased these for under my kitchen cabinets, I love them and do not regret the purchase at all, they didn't work for me under the cabinets, the stainless steel appliances show stripes of the individual colors of the led clusters so I had RGB stripes across everything and they don't make a good white light either. But they worked nicely in the bedroom behind the headboard great subtle light that doesn't shine in your eyes that you can keep on all night so you can see the dogs on the floor when you get up in the middle of the night. So I love them they just don't work well for what I intended to use the for. If philips would frost the plastic casing I think the RGB issue would go away.

I added the light strips to my philips hue lights. This lights adding more decorative and luxury feel.

The light strips are actually my favorite Hue product. The colors are much better than the light bulbs
