Works Great, but Price is High
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m using this light strip to replace 4 hue play bar lights connected to the sync box. Installation was simple. The double sided tap brackets are easy to attach (and I even moved 2 after a minute or so, which was easy). There is a little notch on the light to indicate the middle, which made it easy to identify where it should go on the tv. Although pricey, this is a much better experience. The light strip has different zones which make a seamless transition of the lighting effect. Before, I felt like the top of the screen color was never used and the left and right side lights would sometimes be delayed in changing colors. This light strip does not have those problems - timing is excellent and the zones are accurate.

Philips Hue Strips
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Light strips were very easy to attach to tv. Having to download 3 separate apps to get them to work with the sync box was a bit of a hassle though. Lights up entire small living room nicely.

Good Standalone Lightstrip or Great with Sync Box
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing upgrade from the Hue dual light bars that they replaced. So much more color and brightness. Install was easy and so far no issues with the mounts falling off even after some extended watch sessions with the lights on and TV exhaust venting the heat. We also appreciate the ability to set 3 colors on the strip as my wife uses it to highlight her seasonal decorating. Only downside is that to get the full use out of your lightstrip is that you have to have the Hue sync box. I primarily use my lightstrip for syncing from a PC while gaming but do occasionally use Netflix and Amazon Prime. Due to DRM requirements the desktop sync app won't work with either.

Good product, could use some improvements.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this lightstrip. Only complaints are 1. Could use a better method for attaching to tv or include more clips and 2. Could not place plug end on right side of tv, strip would not bend that way so had to use extension cord to get to plug. 3. Would have been nice if it went all the way around the tv, only does 3 sides. So now i have to add another type of light to the bottom and take up another outlet for power. I really wish they would make these products so they would be able to use one power source. Other than that the lighting is great really makes the tv pop.

Wish this had come out sooner
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish this would have been available when i set up the first light strip around my other TV system. It’s a lot easier to set up and it’s ability to provide multiple colors in one light strip is awesome. Only drawback is the cost.

Must have Hue product
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome product. Must have product for any household already using the Hue system. I originally purchased multiple Hue Play bar lights for behind my TV/stand. When paired with the Hue Play Sync box the lights provided the desired effect, the Gradient Lightstrip is a game changer. I moved the other lights around the room to create an immersive experience and it is awesome! This product was out of stock for quite some time. I set an alert on Best Buy and jumped at the opportunity to purchase when it was back in stock. My only comment is with regard to the plug adaptor that connects the lightstrip to the power. Be sure to connect the correct plugs because there are a few wires that look similar but have specific plugs that need to be connected.

Alright product
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s average. Has bright vibrant colors but do not buy unless you plan on spending an additional amount of money to buy the actual item that connects it to your TV. Too much money for not a lot of use unless you pay more money to add the extra use.

Too Small for LG OLEDs
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decent product. It’s not as great as Philips would have you believe. Perhaps if you lived in an Ikea ad with pure white furniture against pure white satin sheen walls with nothing hanging on the walls or sitting anywhere near your tv, the dynamic impact would be better, but if you don’t live in an all-white sterile environment, the effect is not very noticeable at all. There are two big problems with this product: 1. It does not illuminate below the bottom of the screen at all. This leaves out roughly ⅓ of the screen’s perimeter and makes the 3-sides only effect uneven and wonky. 2. The sizes listed on the light strip aren’t sized properly for most modern screens. We have a 65” LG CX OLED which should have been an easier fit than most TVs of the same screen size as these LGs, as with most other OLEDs, have nearly zero bezel or frame surrounding the screen. Philips’ installation instructions state that the light strip should run the full perimeter of the left, right, and top sides, and that it should be positioned between 5 & 10 cm from the outside edge of the TV (so, roughly 2-4” from the outside edge at most). Instead, the 65” light strip only covers a portion of the 65” OLED’s screen. We had to pull off and reattach the adhesive holders several times to stretch things as much as we could, but in the end, we only managed to get each side to extend down to about 8 inches from the bottom and to get this much of the sides covered, had to move the light strip inward to around 10 inches from the outer edge and even then had to go with a very large radius curve away from the corners to have enough slack to at least make it functional. This means the light strip sits around 4-5 times further from the outer edge of the TV than it is designed to do. This drastically reduces the outward spread of the illumination and in turn causes the colors to blend together. For the VERY expensive price tag, Phillips needs to address both the bottom and sizing issues. In the meantime, if you have a 65 inch OLED, buy the 75 inch light strip.

Disappointing Design
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so excited when i saw this in store at Best Buy. And for the 5-6 days it stayed attached to the TV, it was great. Love the ambience it adds (although I’m not sure it really works better than the standalone Hue lights I already had behind the TV. But the adhesive is simply not strong enough to hold the strip in place around the back of the TV against the force being exerted by the bent light strip that does not want to be held in a frame position. I was on a Teams meeting earlier today when i heard a loud snap and discovered all four of the corner adhesive “holders” had snapped off (presumably one started it and pulled the others along). To be fair the TV back is not entirely smooth - it’s a 65” Sony Bravia with a criss cross plastic back so you’re losing just a little bit of surface area for adhesion where the pattern is. But there’s no workaround for this. I was also surprised that the strip is just slightly too large for a 65” TV - the ends of the strips were hanging down at the bottom of the TV. I’m going to have to take this back to Best Buy and see if i can get any kind of refund without the original packaging that went into recycling a week or so ago. This wasn’t ready for market - a rare miss for Hue with me.

No Sync Box needed on New Samsung’s Just hueTV App
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bright and fast response , not having to have a ugly camera popping out the top or bottom of the tv like other brands was key. Works perfect on my 85” Samsung Frame recommend installing 6” deep from tv border and the best part of all was that I didnt need the outdated picture quality killing hue sync box just downloaded app on tv and Boom works every single time just like everything else from Hue!

A must have for a complete Hue color ambience.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had only 2 Hue color light bulbs in my living room that I used to set the mood with a "Hue Scene". I knew that I could do better with the ambience of the living room so I decided to buy the Hue Gradient Strip for my TV and now it's just WOW!! With the Hue Gradient Strip the color ambient lightning in my living room has all the colors I needed for the whole room to expolde with color. Guests are amazed. Remember, you can never have too many colored lights. People make the mistake of only going with a couple of lights, when in fact you need a whole set of them to really bring out the best in any room.

The top of the line for TV lightbars.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this in conjunction with the Phillips Hue HDMI Sync box and it works wonderfully. The diffuser spreads the light in a beautiful array of colors matching the screen and is very responsive.

Nice
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the light strip it adds a whole new immersive experience to movie, shows and gaming. However, it’s super expensive and the sync box is only 2.0 hdmi capable so I put it on my 4K Samsung in the bedroom.

Great if using a PC, probably not worth it for TV
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome for large PC monitors, though I’m not sure it’s worth it for a television unless you’re hooked up to a PC. The box needed to use dynamic lights does not support 4K at 120hz, so it is expensive and outdated. Without the box, this is just another hue light strip, so keep that in mind. I use it in my LG C48 OLED which I use as a PC monitor and this thing is great. Very reactive to what’s onscreen using just the Hue sync app.
