Way easier setup that previous options. Much sturdier tubes. Although id reccomend going s size up for full coverage. The 55 inch doesnt fully cover the tv ( just the top and two sides) overall good light

Of course it is a great Lightstrip that works seamlessly with the hue sync box. The product itself is high quality. The price not so much. If you are just starting out and want TV lighting, look to other options. I have been adding Hue lights a little at a time for over 10 years and I want to stay with the same brand.

I've had my eye on this product for the past year. I was really excited about the possibilities but my major concern was the price. After year of waiting for the price to drop and not seeing any significant change I decided to pick them up. I recently redesigned my entertainment area and figured I would splurge on the light kit and it was totally worth it. If you're into a really immersive TV watching experience the Philips hue light strip really adds to the viewing experience however I would first invest in a more expensive TV before I would spring for this kit. The built-in diffusion of the lights and it's independent color zones really look polished and premium. The installation is relatively simple but keep in mind that you may need additional space behind the TV if your TV is flush mounted. If you're looking for a real wow factor for your entertainment area this is it.

    Finally, ambient lighting that works!!

Finally ambient lighting that works! I have owned the original Ambivision which stopped working, then got the Lightberry kit which took a ton of work to get it working (for advanced users for sure). I ended up having to replace the LED strips and a second video capture unit, but even then the LED’s started to flicker. This Hue Gradient strip just works and looks great! It’s not as detailed with only 7 capture zones, but in some ways it’s better and not as distracting. The Hue strip blends the onscreen colors very well. It say’s it only has 7 colors but it sure seems it has more than that. It is unfortunate that it doesn’t cover the bottom of the TV, but I added 2 light bars to the bottom, which now covers the light spread all the way around the screen. The gradient strip uses the sync app which works in tandem with the Hue app. There are 4 different intensities and also brightness control. I keep intensity level on extreme and brightness at about 75% which switches onscreen detail quickly, and produces plenty of light to cover the walls, ceiling and floor around the TV. Another great thing about the Hue products and Best Buy is you can get the protection plan in case something goes wrong which the other cheap systems don’t offer.

I have the hue play light bars and I was impressed with those. Single color per side with those l but the play gradient light strip is awesome. I got the 55” model and put it on my 43” tv with some corner brackets 3d printed. The way it tracks the colors is amazing on movies and on my games running on my pc. I love it.

Note: this requires the (pricey) Sync Box, but it's worth it! I got this and the Sync box on sale as a bundle, and wow! This absolutely changes home theater! The first thing we watched was Encanto and it blows me away just how nicely the colors jump from the edge of the screen to the entirety of the back wall! I have any sync box connected to the 2nd HDMI out of my AV receiver, and my TV connected to the 1st HDMI out as eARC. Anything my TV displays, regardless of input, will light up the lights. However, every time I change inputs, I have to fiddle with the box to re-sync it. The only reason I'm doing this is because I'm paranoid the Sync box might add a few milliseconds of delay, and since I want games to go as latency free as possible, I went through the extra hassle to set this up.

Purchase these lights and the sync box. I have a similar setup with another company and this one looks a lot smoother. It also supports 4k and has multiple hdmi port's to add other stuff. If you have any other hue lights this is a great addition you have the ability to sync everything together. The reason why im giving it 4 star's is because with the price you paid for these lights they could have covered the entire tv and not just the sides and top. Its also not that easy to install if your TV is already mounted on the wall. I really wish they would cover the bottom of the tv

it open up a whole new level of immersion. Even if your are not using a sync box you can set it to soft or natural white light in the background when watching movies. it reduce eye stain and make movie watching more fun. build quality is solid. I been using it for almost 7 months without any issues. the app is very responsive and you almost have unlimited choices of colors. even if your are not watching TV, you can turn the light on with your computer app and sync it to the music. the light change and response to every beat of the music and creates a very enjoyable atmosphere. when ever I have friends over they all love the lights.

Awesome experience to add to our TV, gaming and other video experiences. Music is nice but not coordinated in the same manner as video. we use this with the Phillips Hue Play Sync which is the way to go, Setting that up is tricky and took some experimentation, but we have it working with 4 devices routed through it to the TV. That would be another review though! the color rendition is exceptional and goes from brilliant to nuanced and moody. Wonderful, easy to install.

Keep it simple. Is this product expensive? Absolutely. Does this product work? Absolutely. Is it worth YOUR money? Only you can answer that. But as far as rating this product based off what it’s supposed to do, it’s 5 star minimal. I’d give it 10 stars if there was an option.

Let's start with the obvious: This thing is expensive. Is it worth the price though? That's really up to you. If you are going to sync this with your computer or your TV (using the Sync box, which is sold separately), then I would say it absolutely is. I've watched a few movies with the lights synced and it definitely makes them feel more dynamic. Some people will say it's distracting, but if you won't pick the most extreme settings then it's generally nice and subtle.

It’s very nicely package when you receive it very easy to set up. Although the strips for the size of the tv isn’t much. I put the 75inch light strip on my 75 inch tv and it only managed to cover half my tv, mostly the top and a bit on the sides. I did expect it to go all the way around but it doesn’t cover the bottom. I also think for the price I wish I would have waited only because they are coming out with many more affordable fairly priced light strips that do the same and sync to the tv color imagines. Other then that for the most part they work very nicely with an exception of adding more lights towards the bottom.

If you are bought into the Philips Hue lighting system and want to enhance you TV viewing, this lightstrip is great! Works better than the Hue Play system for you TV since it basically has 7 zones. Make sure you get the right size for your TV, I can see getting the incorrect size will cause the zones to be slightly shifted. It requires a Hue Sync box or the PC software to work so there is the additional cost for that, and as with all the Hue products it is a bit pricey.

The finishing touch to a great movie experience. Paired with the Hue Hub, Hue Sync Box & 3 Hue Play Bars it’s definitely on the expensive $$ side but after paying a few thousand for my LG C1 77Oled .. why not. My only complaint is that it doesn’t cover the bottom of the TV, so you have to buy the Hue play bars to to fill in the bottom. At least 3 Hue Play Bars for a 77” but 4 can fit. Other than that my movies and games are more immersive.

This is a must for any Philips Hue user. The unit itself blends seamlessly into the back of the tv. The ambient light is great, but prepare to be amazed once you start syncing the gradient with the Philips Hue Play HDMI sync box! Setup is easy and color accuracy is amazingly on point with images on your screen. Makes movies and music videos a truly immersive experience. The music function turns any home into the ultimate party house as a bonus. Must buy!

These lights are so awesome I actually upgraded my philips hue light bars to this one and asked family and friends if they could tell a difference with the bars vs the lights strip, They chose the light strip every time with out knowing which was wich. With that being said i really love them and if you have the extra cash why not buy these upgraded ones but if your on a budget then the light bars are definitely your best bet.

I’ve had this light for a few months now and it is absolutely amazing and it really adds to my movie watching/video game playing experience! This is an absolute must have for any avid Hue user who has the Syncbox. Obviously, this light projects onto more area than the original light strip but it’s also much much brighter. It should be noted, it only covers the lengths of the top and sides of the tv, not the bottom. Don’t buy the size above the one recommended because the sections of colors will not accurately correspond to their location on the screen. The setup was insanely easy. Unboxing it, taking down my tv, applying the plastics clamps, putting the tv back up, and connecting it to the Bridge took a grand total of about 10 minutes... if that. This has a little more to do with the Syncbox itself but I love the amount of settings. You can set the brightness and the intensity of the lights (the amount they change or the frequency at which they transition). You have the options between video, music, and game. Video and game are obvious but music is great for when you’re playing music but with the screen off, it’ll sync to the rhythms. I can’t say enough good things about this light... though it is on the pricey side. That being said, if you’re a first time user of Hue, get your feet wet before you dive on in and commit as it’s a pricey endeavor. If you’ve used Hue long enough, try the Syncbox BEFORE you get the light just so you know you’re happy with it (there was about a six month period between the purchase of my box and my light). And lastly, if you do have the Syncbox, get the light strip, you won’t regret it!
