Almost Perfect
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This would have been a perfect rating if not for the ease of installation. The lightstrip is not as flexible as one would expect like the previous Philips Hue White and Color Ambiance Lightstrip. It came with plastic “corner guides” which allows the strip to fit snugly when it goes on the corner edges of your TV, but since the strip is so rigid and “uncooperative”, it tends to snap out of the gap where it was suppose to be in and ultimately it just hangs wherever it wants. My TV has an uneven backside so the strip cant even lay flat on the back panel of the TV and makes it is so difficult for it to be held down even if you apply a double sided tape on it. I would say the previous Hue White and Color Ambiance Lightstrip was such a breeze to put on that it makes you wanna forget about the missing gradient feature it lacks that creates the stunning visual effect it when you use your TV for viewing or streaming music.

Great Product, mounting not strong
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome colors. Kinda difficult to setup with the Sync box but I blame the box, not the lights. After a couple of weeks the adhesive came off my TV and I haven’t figured out what I’m gonna do to fix it yet, sad.

Better than govee
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Started with Govee t3 lite and started to really like the look. So when I upgraded my tv I decided to look at these. 400 dollars is a little insane but I was luck enough to pick up an open box deal for 130. The lights look 100 times better than the Govee but not sure if it’s worth 400

Love it
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love it. It’s bright and colorful. Works well for my room and entertainment area. Wouldnt buy again because the price with cheaper just as good alternatives but not gonna knock the rating for that. Buy it and you wont regret it.

Hue gradient
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this light nice to be able to do multiple colors and If you have a hue ecosystem or a sync box it’s even better a bit pricy but definitely worth it

Makes the Sync Box and Hue Sync worth it
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I already had a standard light strip behind my TV, but I barely used it for Hue Sync because a single color means that the Sync Box has to decide on one dominant color per frame. That means that if you have a relatively static scene where say an object or person walks across, the light strip will flicker as each frame has a slightly different color composition. Doesn't matter if you have surrounding Hue lights, the effect is very distracting. Not so with the gradient strip, as each zone stays relatively stable due to not having to adjust for motion outside its corresponding area. Night and day difference. My only con with this strip is that it doesn't cover the bottom of the screen (the strip is effectively an inverted "U" for the top and sides only). But that's a very small con and barely affects the overall quality.

Great show for the dough
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Surprisingly cool but a real difficult install to say the least. We have an older Bose soundbar and our HDMIs run through the wall so that they are hidden. Oh, and by the way, you NEED the HDMI box as well as this strip in order for all this to work - that is another $200 or so. So before you get into this, make sure you are willing to spend $450 for some pretty lights behind the tv. Having said that, I would say that it is! That is officially nuts! At any rate, back to the HDMI, you will need the latest cables 2.0 and above for this to work right. And the app is confusing. We had a Chromecast Google TV setup. You have to plug that into the Philips Sync box and then run a line OUT to the TV. If you do that it will see the active HDMI port. It doesn't recognize lines in. For the soundbar to work, you have to then run an ARC HDMI cable out of the tv to the soundbar. If all that is done, you get some pretty amazing light shows. Its interesting for maybe the first day or two and then you really don't care anymore.

Awesome!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced 5 Hue Play light bars with this light strip. Its pricey, but couldn't be happier with the quality, what a diff it makes when watching a movie. It can be a bit tricky to wrap it around the covers, I used few command strips to hold the strip especially around the corners.

Love!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a whole set up for my boyfriend for his birthday and he absolutely loves having the lights set up. The colors are great and really add to our movie nights and game play! I love them so much that I plan to get more of the strips to add to different parts of our house.

Works great with the Hue Sync app
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love it. You don’t need a Sync Box if you have certain newer model TVs like Samsung bc there is a sync app that you can purchase directly on the TV. Works perfectly with gaming consoles and streaming apps on the TV as well.

Fun but expensive
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was using the Play Bars for a 65 inch Sony. I had a total of 10 covering the back of the tv. With the Gradient strip, i was able to repurpose 7 of the lights to expand the light field. The strip was easy to attach to the tv and the app automatically takes care of it's positioning on the tv. This is definitely a novelty item and shouldn't be used on every movie or tv show, but it does enhance the experience when playing video games and watching action movies. You will need the Phillips Hue hub and the Sync Hub to use these light. Those 3 items alone are well over $500. There are cheaper options on the market, but none of them are as seamless and easy to use as items within the Phillips ecosystem. If you're tech savvy, i would advise you to explore the other options. If you aren't tech savvy or are already invested in the Hue ecosystem, buy this for the ease of integration and use.

A Wonderful Product!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This actually changes how immersive watching TV is. An amazing product yet again from philips hue. The only downside is the price but when you think about the simplicity and ease of installation combined with a simple app to control everything makes this purchase a no brainer!

Dazzling multi colored light show
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They work great. Since I purchased the HDMI Sync box last year, this was the perfect addition. I had used a classic light strip wrapped in a circle around the wall mount, but that only worked for one color. Watching this strip dazzle is such a treat. Expensive to be sure, but worth it.

Great product but with a small downside
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was one of my favorite purchases. If you buy the sync box it completely matches up to the colors on the screen which is great for movies and even sports. The only problem I have is that with the sync box, everything is linked up to a single hdmi even if you’re using cable and a game console, and the only way to change the inputs back and forth from console to cable is the hue sync app on your phone. Since they’re both connected to a single hdmi, you can’t change the input on your normal tv remote, so no one else can really use the TV without you being there. I think the product is great enough to disregard this issue, but moving forward hue should try to do something about not being able to use the TV remote it came with to switch inputs. Also, you can’t use the hue lights for smart tv apps. Only consoles and cable.

Viewing experience upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The lights are a natural, next step in adding to your viewing experience. They can be subtle or enveloping depending on how you integrate them. Makes your screen size seem larger and immerses you in what you’re watching. You need to have the Hue Sync box to really show them off.

Totally Immersive visual
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent light strip. Best when paired with Philips Sync box for 250 million varied colors interacting with screen output. Totally pleased but be warned expensive combo and DOES NOT SYNC with smart TV (streamers) output. Does however sync perfectly if utilizing AppleTV.

Awesome backlight effects
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not for everybody but if you've seen videos of ambient TV backlights and like the effect, the gradient lightstrip is an excellent, though higher end system. You also need a Hue Syncbox and Hue hub to pull it all together, so altogether it's a bit pricy.

best bet for Ambilight type functionality
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.7 distinct lighting zones and mounts to an OLED TV without too much effort. Would be nice if it could work better independent of Sync box - it can do basic colors with Hue app, but no special effects. Expensive for an Ambilight solution but very cool effects when it's working
