I've been testing several smart home bulbs for the last six months and the hue promise doesn't quite deliver. The app is not intuitive and very limited. You'll also find it unable to connect quite often when away from your home network. Would love to see Philips put some work in the usability of the app.

I would recommend any other way to control your lamps . . . other than Phillips Hue. Very disappointed; in fact, likely to retire the bulbs. Found lights coming on when unexpected, but the worst problem is that I have the Hue bulb in the lamp next to my bed. When I am ready, I turn it "off" from my iPad . . . but it simply does not go off; there's still an annoying glow, forcing me to reach up and turn off the lamp at the lamp switch. So, why bother with the WIFI Hue?! In another location, I used a TP-Link plug, and I can set up schedules, but also turn off the lamp from any of my devices flawlessly. AVOID PHILIPS HUE!!

Decent system works most of the time like the dining feature.

It was working great but a couple of weeks ago one of the lights started to turn off by itself. and when trying to turn it off on the app it will turn back on. Then it flickers... Ive done some to research online about it but really haven't found a solution.

Software updates required physical proximity to unit—changed to another brand that has never presented that problem. Newer ones may be better; found it frustrating to reach/talk with Customer Service.

I purchased the starter kit in hopes to completely transfer my home into a smart home. Unfortunately, none of the bulbs fit so I had to return the product. I have heard great things about it but it just didn't work out for me.

Requires dedicated LAN connection (not truly wireless system) and bulbs would sometimes disappear from the App and reappear. Alexa struggle to control them consistently due to this issue. Refer to my other review on the color bulb.
