Phillips Hue Lights
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanting to have the ability to turn on lights in our home from where ever we are was appealing. The system was user friendly and easy to get going. We liked it so much, we bought another kit and a number of lights to add on to both systems. My one sad point to make it the difficulty putting both systems (2 separate homes) on the same Hue app. Going online and searching allowed me to find an app we could get allowing us to have both systems running and accessed.

A little pricey at first, but worth it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hesitant to start changing out bulbs for smart bulbs in my home, but once I did (they were on sale) I haven't looked back! Especially when paired with Amazon Echo. I can set up different moods, routines, and schedules or use voice commands (with Echo or Google Home) to adjust brightness levels - even turn a lamp into a night light. They are also great for security purposes when you are away from home and you want to turn on a light to keep burglars away.

It's a "Starter" toy; so don't expect too much
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yes, it's a starter kit. So don't expect to much unless you are going to add more on this, like multiple color LED or white ambient LED. I had thought about buying Philips Hue with multiple color LED but I decided to buy starter kit with white light. However, White light is not actually white, which means it is not like daylight or something. It's yellowish and a little bit dim for people like me who have weak sight. So be aware of that. I don't think I need Multi-color LED. I'm not a college kid who throws parties every week or flirts someone by showing off my geek tendency. I think about expending the system for Need, so it's enough for me. One thing you should know about it is if you planning multiple controlling devices like Amazon echo, iPhone, Apple TV, and/or Google Home, then you need to choose which direction you want to go for you home automation system. For now there aren't many but going to flourish real soon. I use Google Home, Echo, and iPhone. I had to figure out how I could control homeautomation system with all device I have. So I came down to Philips hue starter kit for lights system because all of my gadget can control Philips thing. But if you collect different base systems from here and there, then you are going to face to use different controllers every single time and the base system consuming your real property soon. Next step I am going to add with Philips Hue is White Ambient LED, which is unfortunate that I couldn't find on Bestbuy store in my area. I wanted to see how bright it is. And the price, I guess, is reasonable compared to other multicolor LED - but I am looking for Thanksgiving day sale for those. Reasonable but still expensive.

Love the Hue
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 10 hue bulbs(color and white) in 4 rooms. Building my way up to the whole house. Easy install, simple to use hue app, beautiful lighting options and timer(routines) is so convenient . Sometimes I have a problem with Apple Home Kit app and siri recognizing all the bulbs. The hue app doesn't let you group bulbs for chandeliers (or I am too stupid to figure it out). Got an app called "huemote" that fixed that problem . So far so good . Definitely recommend.

Great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This purchase was my entry into making my home a Smart Home. After reading several articles I ordered this package deal. Best Buy was the cheapest and had it in stock. The system is easy to set up and worked as described. I recommend this system to anyone looking to make the leap. Be advised making your home smart ain't cheap. The Phillips hue system worked for me and is comparable to others in cost. The bridge can control fifty lights as well as other smart devices.

Love my Philips Hue lights
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a light setup that would allow me to turn my lights on at random times when I wasn't home. I came across the Philips Hue lights while browsing in Home Depot and then again when I was at Best Buy. I tried them out and highly recommend these for anybody looking at a timer-based lighting setup. These lights are fairly easy to setup and depending on how much you like customizing your settings you can have everything up and running in about 20-30 minutes.

Great product, App could use a revamp
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was torn between this and LIFX and from what I saw they're very similar but the Hue seemed compatible with more services and its price point was slightly lower. The app is somewhat basic and can get cumbersome if lights are added later to current "scenes". Check out Stringify and IFTTT for further usability.

Solved a dark problem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My house is in a wooded area and natural light is hard to come by. This product, combined with a few of the color variety and an Echo Dot and I’ve got all the lighting flexibility I need.

Great item
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really like the light bulbs to use with my Alexa. The only thing is if you use the light switch like normal and forget to leave it on it doesn't work the next time. You either use it by voice and leave the switch alone or it really is not much use. The product it self is great though.I like walking down the hall and asking for my bedroom light to come on before getting there or coming into a dark house and asking for the living room light to come on.

Fun and useful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having full control over your lighting is both fun and useful. Being able to dim any light you choose is great. For extra fun, pair Hue with an Amazon Echo (or Siri) for voice control.

Great product for kids that leave lights on
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our upstairs lights either were always on or else couldn't be turned on once upstairs because it was a dual switch and the downstairs switch was off. Now with the motion activation we don't have to worry about them being left on or running up and down turning on switches. We also love the fact we can program it to be dim after a certain time at night.

A bit pricey but worth it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to change the look of my rooms and add a geek factor to my new home. The Phillips hue bulbs were the easiest thing to do. Completely changed the look of my rooms. They are now interstated with my iPhone and Alexa. Always fun to show to people when they come over how they work. Very easy to set up. I love the hue app for the iPhone. Very convenient to manage lights from local wifi network and from outside network when I am not home.

Like it but not intuitive to install
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the secure feeling this system gives me. Don't come home to dark porch or house any more. Not totally intuitive to install and use app effectively. To set up some things, need to install Nest which seems really rigid. Still learning the ins and outs but don't regret the purchase at all.
