I just bought a Google Home and wanted to use it to its full advantage. I wanted to automate my lights, but did not want to spend another 100 bucks or more to get the regular Hue lights. When I found out that they have a starter pack with something that just turns on and off with white light and is controlled through my Google Home, I jumped on the opportunity. It was at a great price, and I am very happy with my purchase. I am extremely happy, because I knew that I wouldn't need my lights to change colors anyways. Great Purchase.

I really hate getting up to turn off my lights before I sleep. But after I got these bulbs with my echo dot, I feel so happy that I don’t have to get out of my warm bed at winter night to turn off my lights! Fantastic!

I bought the Hue Starter kit as an introduction to home automation and it did everything I wanted it to do. I bought an extra bulb to make for 3 in my living room and setting the scenes took only minutes. Satisfied Hue customer for sure.

This bulb was easy to connect to my wifi network and works well with voice recognition commands on both Apple Siri and Amazon Echo. Excellent addition to my home automation system.

I’m so glad I bought this kit - I was skeptical at how helpful this would be, but we love it in my home.
I love that you can create “scenes” so that you can say, for example, “Siri, set morning scene” and any lights I have programmed for that scene will turn on at once, rather than saying “turn on hall light, kitchen light,” etc.
I also love that we can turn lights off/on anytime, even when we’re not home.
I’m planning on buying more of the bulbs to replace most of the ones in our house.

I was told in the store that these lights can do a lot of things & even though I was skeptical, I purchased some. The setup was magically easy! I screwed them in and they worked instantly. I went & got more of them!

Paired with Alexa these are neat to have. Its nice to walk into with a handful of stuff and ask Alexa to turn on the light. The app wasn't bad to set up and once you learn your way around it, its not bad. The Hue app isn't quite as user friendly as I think it could be but it works. One cool thing is you can set a routines for the lights. You can also enable a feature to turn on certain lights when the wifi picks up your home network when you pull in the driveway

Bought this kit with a few extra bulbs and a dimmer switch. Setup and connection to all devices was easy enough and once it was done I've had no issues and everything just works.
Just had one issue with HomeKit loosing connection to the hub but it went away with an update or something. Could still control lights remotely, even when not home through Hue so wasn't a big deal.
I did my research and the features along with HomeKit connection and good value to money made this the best choice for me.

I read in the AARP magazine about the benefits of waking gradually with sunlight and how your regular light can offer the same benefits with some of the new devices, so I tried it with the Philips Hue and it was simple! I love the gradual light! I can set it for different "speeds" and different times for different days of the week and all kinds of things. I will probably experiment with other uses since this was so simple. And it was not expensive either. Love it!

I just recently purchased a two Echo Dots and these lights worked so easily with them. Also on my android phone I was able to create a widget to turn lights on and off after installing the app.

These lights work great in our downstairs living room and on our front porch. I had had no issue with it being outside. Also easy to control via the app. Also connect easily to the Hue bridge.

I had been using HomeBrite that woks with bluetooth but found that it was not always reliable as somehow it would go offline and resetting them was a very time consuming protect. The Philips Hue system is fantastic, works with WiFi and it took no time at all to set up. You can control brightness and go from warm to cool with the white bulbs and schedule times or just turn them on or off manually.
Highly recommended !

Pros
Very easy to set up. I was able to connect the Hub next to my router. The instructions were simplistic and lights were discovered quickly. After I set up in hue app I set up in Alexa.
Cons
Some times Alexa has trouble and says my room is not responding. I am not sure if this is an Alexa problem or a hue problem. When this is an issue I go to the hue app and I am able to turn off lights. Hue sensor also needs a hub to work so I was pleased I did not have to buy another hub. The price is very expensive for color hue lights so I have about 20 Hue warm lights.
Over all I am pleased with my hue lights !

I actually got rid of another brand to get the Phillips hue product. The installation was easy and VERY quick. I have now added another bulb and it installed flawlessly. Couldn’t be happier.

After you take some time to get used to not turning lights the way you used to, these really make things more convenient. Really nice to be able to shut off all the lights in the house or just a single room. I have these paired with an Echo Dot and it works very well. There is sometimes a second or two delay between the command and the lights shutting off but other than that the integration is perfect. Also love the ability to dim any light in the house.

i like that you can control the lights with my phone or tablet. The next feature i like is when you come home the lights come on automatically. you just have to set up the feature with google maps on your phone and with the hub. The only negative i haven't confirmed is if the app works when your away having full control of the lights. Other than that it was a good purchase. i will be purchasing the indoor flood color lights for the family room to use as a theater feature

I needed a new base station. My old one was lost in a move. The base station cost just by itself was $55, but this starter kit was $65 with two lights! Makes sense to get this starter kit.
