I bought this because there’s no light switch at the entranceway from my garage into the house. I’ve tried motion detection lights but it was always spotty. Having this wifi switch next to the door was perfect. My parents don’t know how to use their phones to turn on/off the lights so having this switch was more intuitive for them. There’s no lag time at all from pushing the button and the lightbulbs responding.

They work like a charm having been linked to my modem, I operate them to turn on at dark for my dogs before I get home ... while I am miles away from home. Purchased on a great Best Buy special.

We bought the Hue Multicolor starter Kit to add some fun lights to our smart home devices! We love them! Easy to set up and just wish we had a few more to do the gorgeous combinations.

This system added just what I wanted to my home. The ability to change light colors and themes throughout my home with my phone or the provided remote makes it so simple to control.

There are times that I work late hours and I specifically bought these because of the ability to turn the lights on before I get home. The app is very easy to use.

I've tried other smart lights in the past and had quite a few issues. Randomly disconnecting and having to re-pair. These ones are quite a bit more expensive, but, for the most part so far, seem like higher quality. One thing they should tell you before purchasing, the hub has to be connected to your router with a LAN cable, but then connects to your bulbs wirelessly. It does not offer the option to connect wirelessly to hub. This may help with how much more reliable the bulbs seem, though. Just can be kind of annoying, and also having a wireless device so close to your router I think can cause interference. Another small annoyance is if I ever turn off the actual physical light switch and turn it back on, one of the bulbs always comes back on purple. Other than that, these seem to work great. Never had any issues with pairing or disconnecting. Hue app has a whole wide range of customization options for lighting, and integrates very well with HomeKit.

Compared to the three or four other brands of smart bulbs I have, Hue is by far the best in terms of setup and use. The only real con to the Hue ecosystem is the premium you pay.

Its obvious they are by far the best you can get. Im amazed the price is yet to drop given all the competition anymore. I am seriously considwring jumping ship to an off brand.

Great starter kit. What can I say? It does what it says. I had no issues installing it. I had an existing Hue bridge with 3 plain white lights I have been waiting to purchase some color bulbs because I could never justify the 50 dollar price tag for one bulb. This kit was on sale for 129.99 which was an amazing deal because buying everything separately would of cost a lot more. I didn’t need the bridge so I threw it up on eBay and made 30 bucks. So for a hundred dollars the bulbs and the switch is a good deal. That being said the color bulbs are okay. They are not as bright as expected. I mainly use them for ambiance lighting but still find that they could be better. Playing around with the app and finding color combinations is great but I usually go back to the same colors. Hopefully Phillips will increase the brightness on future bulbs or at the very least drop the price point.
