This look is super cool. However if you are thinking of using it for a large room. I would consider using two. It’s bright but it could use a slight push of more light.

This was my first and last Philips Hue purchase. When it works, its great. I love that I can dim the lights with this lightbulb. The reason for 2 stars is connection issues. This bulb is always disconnecting. I’m always having issues with Alexa and Google recognizing the light bulb, always getting an error saying “The device isn’t responding.” It works better when I control it from the app but even from the app, I still get a lot of connection issues with it. This lightbulb has now made its way to least used lamp in the house. I’ve found better smart lights on amazon for less that actually work. 1 stars for being a nice lightbulb when it works but I honestly cannot recommend this item. 1 other star because I got this on SALE. Otherwise, spend your money with another brand.

Great for a gift for someone that can use a smart bulb

I bought several phillips hue bulbs for my house. This review only reflects this specific bulb as I have no issues with any other phillips hue products. Love the dimming feature on all the bulbs and I have several of the colored ones which give a lot of settings. I would give 4-5 stars on all the other products. This one in particular I have an issue though, and that is the processing time it takes for the “smart” bulb to turn on sometimes (almost all the time) when i flip the switch. Sometimes i flip the switch to turn it on and I am literally standing in the dark for 5-10 seconds waiting for there to be light. This can be very frustrating if I am in a rush to grab something in the room, as the room I have this installed in works on a single bulb so this is the only light-source. I will most likely be replacing this with one of the upgraded models.

I got these bulbs for a very basic purpose -- as I age in place, and given being disabled, it is helpful to convert as much as I can to more of automation or app driven uses. The Hue Bulbs, while a bit on the costly side, are on sale now and I've successfully used them now for a couple of years (some of the older ones) to control sections of my home (which is what is needed when you have mobility impairments). I also can turn these on as I approach my home after any appointments or trips - it is a good thing to have light ready and waiting for me after say, a long day doing a grocery run.
