Great product but could be more
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, great product and creates nice atmosphere with the lights. It definitely adds a lot to the room & house. The only issue is that the bridge needs to be physically connected to your router and depending on your house set-up, that could be some trouble.

Does not work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I try to run the Hue app on iPhone 6s+ it puts me in an infinite loop trying to repeatedly update the bridge. This occurs even after I reboot the iPhone. No documentation came with the package and the help on the web is minimal and not useful. Best Buy had refused to take the Hue Starter Kit package back and refund my money.

Glitchy, glitchy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Held off until Xmas. Setup was easy but then tried the wake up routine. Nope. Sleep routine, nope. Custom routine. Yes that worked. Colors worked fine but... Then set up a new room where the hub wasn’t. But it’s a NYC apartment so we’re talking 20 ft through a wall. Sometimes worked, then didn’t. I’m in IT and troubleshoot all day. Don’t need to do that at home so so my room can be purple. Can’t justify this purchase. Back to the store,

Sorry Philips, you need to rethink safety!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, I'll say these lights are really cool and easy to operate from the app. Were it not for a fatal flaw that apparently Philips doesn't recognize or isn't willing to address, they would be awesome. The flaw is that when there is a power outage, the lamps come back on automatically as a bright white (regardless of the setting prior to the outage). So for example if your electricity blinks in the middle of the night any lights hooked to the system will come on as bright white and you will either have to turn them off manually or wait for your router to reboot to be able to turn them off with the app (for me this is 3+ minutes). I called Philips thinking that there's a setting somewhere to keep this from happening but they said there's not and they consider this a "safety" feature so it won't be changed. I don't know in what world waking someone up from a deep sleep with a bright light is "safe" but it is certainly not in mine. These are on their way back. If someone knows of a comparable product that doesn't have this issue, I would be interested.

Out of home connection does not work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first few months were awesome where we could control these lights from anywhere in the world. Now unless we are home and on the wifi network, the out of home connection does not work.

Bulb Failure and Poor Customer Service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is rising concern that a number of the bulbs fail within a year of use. The bulbs lose their ability to express certain colors. When brought to the attention of Philips they stalled Me with a series of tasks to try to “repair” the bulb until the bulb was beyond warranty. I will be going back to standard bulbs.

Bulbs fail, Philips won't honor warranty
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Using a Hue bulb in an enclosed fixture voids the warranty. I'm unable to find this exception on Best Buy, the Hue website, the Hue warranty info, etc. Don't spend hundreds of dollars on bulbs that will fail in less than a year.

Could not connect to Google Home
