This is the best way to jump into Hue in a big way, with 4) medium base multi color / white bulbs & a Hub. These are the latest generation Hue with brighter bulbs & more intense colors. The pricing at Best Buy was very attractive compared with individual bulb prices, so I bought it to add to existing Hue bulbs & to have an extra Hub, since the practical limit is 50 bulbs per Hub. I was looking for alternative lighting options for my older home. With limited outlets and no overheard lighting, I decided to try out the hue system. I am very happy with the ability to have bright to ambient lighting all controlled through my phone and Alexa.

The sales associate in Bew York was probably the most knowledgeable and helpful I’ve ever had at Best Buy. He had first account experience in the Smart Home products I was looking to purchase and helped me make wiser choices throughout competitor comparisons.

I bought the starter pack as it was the best value for the money. Once I bought them I was hooked. Philips is a great brand for lights, I expect to have them for a very long time. Try all the types and hook it up to an "Assistant" to get the most flexibility.

They are simple to set up and definitely add some excitement to a room. We use them with google minis, our kids love being able to turn on the bathroom light from their room. Our youngest is a bit afraid of the dark, he now has the ability to turn on a pathway to wherever it needs to go in our home at night. I also like the ability to set a timer on our outside lights, so they shut off at midnight, every night, saving us energy/money not having to leave them on all night. As of June 28, we have 48 lights operating in our home.

Very glad I purchased the Color ambient version instead of just white. Since purchasing the starter set with four bulbs I have extended Hue lights to as many places as I could. But one person in my household would rather just turn on the switch instead of asking Alexa to do it all the time. And then you have to talk to it to turn it off. Personally I found the light control to be great. Even while you are out of the house miles away you can make lights go on and off to make it appear someone is home. Great idea. Also set up the geofence and that works great.

Philips really has their solution working right. I just find it really overpriced so I returned this kit.

These are not cheap bulbs, but they are very versatile and I have been happy with them. Had them hooked up just to the Phillips hub, but now they're integrated with smart home interface through Vivint and Alexa. I like the ability for it to use gps to know when I'm home and activate lights I program to illuminate the dark. All the different scenes/colors available are nice too. Just takes some learning of the app to figure out all the features.

These are really cool and fun, simple to set up and works well with Siri, google home and other devices

I am so glad that I made this purchase! I installed the lights into my ceiling fixture and lamp in my living room and it's one of the best purchases in my new apartment. Everything was easy to setup through the app on my iphone and I love the atmosphere they create in my apartment. The only thing I wish was that the light bulbs were labeled with numbers (and if they are I must've missed that part) just so it's easier to identify which one you're putting where so you know which one you're controlling. But other than that I love them!

It works great with Alexa and there's lots of colors you can choose from. Best Technology ever. I have had it for the past 3 months and still no issues.

This is great for setting mood lighting in color. I would like to work with the phone and wall switch.

I got these lights for the bedrooms and the living room, and mainly because I got the apple HomePod and thought it would be fun to try some smart/homekit bulbs. They work great, and my kids are having a blast playing with them. However, the husband is now threatening to take them back, just because of the kids. Now, the newness will wear off soon. I am looking forward to some outdoor ones, to use for the outside lights we have. These are not a necessity, but if you are just interesting in getting a start in a sort of smart home, these are good to start with.

I really like the fact that I can get these lights and a hub in one package. It was very easy to set up and the colors are completely adaptable.

My son has one in thier house in florida, So we liked it and made the choice to buy one for our home too. I like the advantage of being able to turn things on/off from a far. Im glad we purchased it. Nothing but good reviews about having this item
