One of the coolest things I bought. You still need the hub for it to work unless the home unit has a hub built inside. The light can change just about any color you can think of.

I was one of those people who thought smart home features were A) out of my price range and B) completely unnecessary. After I purchased my Amazon Echo I’ve seen Philips come out with more affordable bulbs (that last forever btw) and the features make them much more dynamic than a simple on/off lightbulb. The different colors, syncing to music, slowly turning on as an alarm. All of it is incredibly intuitive and unobtrusively useful. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 was that sometimes the bulbs can lose connection if left on for an extended amount of time. I would give a command to turn it off, and it would go off and come right back on. Didn’t matter if it was voice controlled or the app. Small glitch, would still highly recommend.

I went all in on the Philips hue ecosystem. Love it and it works great with Alexa. Getting close to the 50 device cap on my bridge and soon you will be too after this purchase!

I did have to return my first light due to having a defect in the glass of the bulb. After replacing it, setting it up...it's awesome that you change to whatever color you want

Screw this bulb into the socket power it on and fire up the ap on your phone and you are in control.. Simple as could be... Save money and Cool colors... or Just White. SIMPLE

It is great to be able to add more light bulbs to my hue bridge Love being able to change the color of the light. I looks great and it changes the room vibe with its colors

Like many others, i originally peaked into these and saw 50 a pop, so i got scared away. Well with all these seasonal sales and tipping my toes into alexa control at home, i bought a bunch to try out. I figure at the very very least, we will love using these to simply dim the lights at night because we love the ambiance xmas lights give and get sad once we take em down. Well so far we love that feature and so much more!! I like having remote access to turn lights on for our dog when we're away, i love the programmed time so when i wake up my downstairs light is already on, and we even use the colors more than we thought to help set moods for cleaning, working, or misc! Never thought id love these as much as we have!

I was needing to have lights turn on automatically. Tried installing smart switches, but had several issues with complicated 3 way circuits. Used the Phillips Hue lamps and immediately liked the product. Easy set up, and have remote usability with the Hue app. Being able to change the light colors is a nice bonus and makes using the lights fun. I went back to Best Buy the next day to purchase two more lamps.

Didn’t think that I would enjoy having colored lights throughout the house. It’s pretty awesome and adds a whole new dinamic when relaxing or hosting a get together.

Love the different colors. Blue at night and yellow to wake up.

Purchased this for our lamp and then returned later to purchase more of the color bulbs to add more character to our room buy putting in the overhead lights as well.

These lights give any boring room a fun atmosphere. I bought a starter pack, then realized I needed every room to have color, so I went back and bought more bulbs!!

These bulbs when hooked up to Alexa can go on and off through voice commands. They are also pretty, if you want to change the colors of them according to your mood.

I love using the Hue Lights and smartening up my home a bit. Colors are excellent and controlled perfectly by my echo. Looking to smarten up the rest of my home now.

I had been asking for this for a while, then on Christmas I go it, I set it up with the Echo Dot. Not only is it amazing easy to voice control the light bulb, but some of the settings are nice. It has preset color schemes to do things like provide energy, reading, a nightlight type light. Then you can use photos to recreate a color, like a sunset, snowing...just amazing. I can not wait to get more!

I got this item on sale for 30 bucks and its awesome. Easy to use and control with my Google Home. A must have for anyone wanting to start setting up a smart home.

Aside from intermittent connectivity problems (which is my Wi-Fi not the hub) these 3rd gen lights are amazing. Better colors than my 2nd gen and work flawlessly.

I'm slowly converting my house over to all Hue lighting, and when these were on sale over the Thanksgiving weekend I had to grab a couple. They're set up on either side of my home office desk and I've discovered that using an app like Hue Dynamic - which can generate automated scenes such as a bright day with clouds floating overhead - has been really reduced eye strain. With regular LED bulbs selling for a dollar or two paying $30 to $45 for a single bulb admittedly does sound a little crazy but if you slowly transition you'll wind up not feeling the bite too badly and you'll love it.

Is it really necessary to be able to change the color of your environment on a whim? No - but it is delightful. I love putting on pink and blue lights together - creates a relaxing environment. Being able to come home and tell my Amazon Echo to turn on the lights is awesome. These do require having a hub plugged into wall unlike some LED bulbs, which is a downside - but the hub and the lights are then fairly painless to set up. And while they're expensive, keep in mind they'll last a long, long time. I started off with one discounted kit of a hub and three bulbs, now I have 7 color bulbs, a Hue go, Hue light strip, and Hue bloom. Non-color bulbs are a lot cheaper, I have some of those for the bathrooms and such. I really enjoy these.
