The bulbs offer many colors, however they are not that vivid and other brands on the market have brighter and more vivid hues. The real draw to these is the ecosystem that works with nearly all the major brands. Also don't expect any decent customer service from Philips Hue. I've been waiting months on a response.

First I have bought several of these a couple times despite their major flaw(s). Those are, when you turn them off they DO NOT come back on the color setting they were on. So the only way to get them back to that is to use your phone. However if your phone is in your pocket and you are out of the house well to bad so sad for the folks at home. I tried to set up a lighting tablet to leave behind but apparently it's not supported on a Galaxy Tab 2 which is a little over a year old, so I tried to set it up on the den laptop and there are no windows apps. So I set it up on Alexia and on off and dim work individually per bulb ( If you label them so like Ceiling light 1 table light 2 etc) Or collectively if you make a separate command to bundle them like Family room lights. All of that programming takes a bit of learning. Then if you want colors and special scenes you have to do all that underling for each one.

My husband is converting most of our house to these bulbs and changed our bedroom lamp. I turned the switch on when I went into the bedroom, and he turned off the light with his app. The next day, when I went to turn on the light (and he already had left for work), it didn't turn on! Apparently I need the app to turn it on....?

These bulbs are exactly what we were looking for in our family room.

If you have HomeKit, you have to have some HUE lights.
