Customers are saying
Customers are pleased with the Hue A19 Smart LED Bulb's wide array of colors and the ease of use, frequently citing the simple setup and seamless integration with other smart home devices. While some users mentioned the product's cost, many appreciate the ability to adjust the brightness and create different ambiances. A few customers noted occasional connectivity or app-related issues, but these were less frequently reported than positive feedback.

Confused
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally was asked by passing salesman if I needed any help after spending ten or fifteen minutes trying to attract someone's attention. I asked several quest about the Amazon Alexa and compatibility with the Philips LED bulb. The gentleman knew less about the bulb than I did, but still recommended buying the bulb which I did, but still was unable to operate the bulb.

I just don't see the point
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My apartment's lights are all Philips Hue. They're all the white bulbs except 2 which are in my living room, and they are these White and Color Ambiance bulbs and well, I just don't use the color. None of the "canned" scenes are in any way pleasant or relaxing and I've tinkered a tiny bit and really can't find any color settings that are at all appealing, so I only use the default white setting. I also find the Siri and Alexa integration extremely poor and for some reason the "turn on the lights when I come home" feature stopped working at some point over the summer. To summarize, I've pretty much stopped using these as "smart" devices controlled from phones and assistants like Alexa and have reverted back to using the light switches, tho I occasionally use the app to dim them. I am a gadget guy, but these just don't provide additional utility above the light switch and when they go, I'll go back to dumb bulbs.

Good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overpriced but cool for the holidays. There are apps that sync with you lights. Pretty cool.

No practical use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hue app really doesn't do much with the colored bulbs.

great lights, endless possibilities
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had several of these Hue bulbs for nearly a year now (just bought my 5th this past fall), and I absolutely love them. They're super-versatile and the color combinations are practically limitless. After purchasing one or more Hue bulbs, you should download the Hue app so you can assign names to the bulbs, set up rooms in which to use them, and either use preloaded color schemes or create your own. Personally, I have quite a few custom scenes created to match with the theme of various tv shows I watch (red & yellow for The Flash, different shades of green for Arrow, etc) as well as themes tailored to holidays. You can use the app to create routines so that the lights are on when you wake up early, on by the time you come home from work, off after you go to bed, etc. These bulbs are not recommended for enclosures as the enclosures can trap heat and potentially create a fire hazard. All my ceiling enclosures use standard non-Hue bulbs and are activated by wall switch, and I only use my Hue bulbs in several non-enclosed lamps throughout the house which I activate via the Hue app or voice command to my Google Home. Entering into the Hue ecosphere can be a little pricey at first, but luckily bulb & bridge bundles go on sale pretty often and fairly regularly so if you're concerned about the cost, wait a little and check back every so often to see if there's a bundle on sale. These light bulbs require the Philips Hue Bridge for full functionality.

Not what spected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought both the Ilumi and this philip bulb... Comes out that ilumi works with you smart phone or tablet without a "controller" philip bulbs need a "bridge" to be able to use them with your smartphone or tablet. Ilumi beat them on this feature. I returned and keept only ilumi.

Awful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These things are terrible. They don’t connect with an amazon echo plus as advertised. Neither Phillips nor Best Buy support could figure out the problem, so I returned them. Waste of money.

Not worth the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought being excited we could listen to music and they would light up to the beat of the music turns out you have to PAY for that to. Isn’t the price enough? We returned them very disappointed.

Needs adapter
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally bought this for a friend and was advised it didn't need the wifi adapter. When she got it home she realized it needs the adapter. There are other brands you can purchase which don't require the additional wifi adapter in order to be connected.

Not too bright
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looking for a 100watt option in the baby’s room. While this provides fun colors, the standard glow only rivals a 60w (if that) leaving scary shadows on everything in the room.

Subtle notice that you need another piece
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You don't find out til you try to set it up. It's 50$ for the bulb. 60$ for the bridge so it can be on wifi. What a joke.

Avoid Phillips ... wasted around $150.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.$150 in total wasted on Hue. The lights and bridge worked fine for about 1 week, then the bridge dropped 1 light. Then it went another month before dropping the rest (as of January 19th). Neither the Hue app nor Alexa was able to locate the bridge. Tried resetting, then un- and re- installing the Hue app. Nothing. 6 white lights, 1 color light (stuck on red, btw ... a nice red, but still...) and a bridge.
