I like the idea of having this light system can't wait to get the bridge and see how it really does

When I bought it I wasn’t told about everything I needed to make it work appropriately.

Product did not work as described. I still have to research to try to make this project work

Had same experience with this one as br40. Software and consistency issues were my biggest problem.

You needed to buy more equipment than the bulb to get it to work.

It doesn’t want to give me any other color. What can I do?

Would be great if you could depend on them. But you cannot. I've tried to get support from Phillips for a problem with the lights turning on by themselves. Many, many others have the same problem. Can't believe they sell these things with this widespread problem.

These lights really are awesome. Where you place them is very important. For example: enclosed fixtures really block out a lot of the light and while you can still do this, they look significantly better in a fixture or lamp that is open. The set up is very simple, the app is easy to use, and syncs with Amazon Echo very easily. The biggest con is...the price. $50 per bulb is pretty outrageous when you realize you're buying light bulbs. But they have excellent colors, brightness, and really influence the ambiance of your home.

Contrary to as advertised, these bulbs do NOT connect to Amazon Echo Plus's that claim to have a built-in hub that these need to function.

My son didn't realize this lightbulb needed an adaptor. I just think it's silly.

Can't use these in enclosed fixtures and certain bulbs dnt fit

I hate having to stumble around in the dark trying to find the lights to turn them on and this is the perfect solution. I am so glad that we bit the bullet ad finally bought these. They do not disappoint and I love that I can turn off the lights without getting out of warmness of my bed bed now! Lazy and Techy all at once.... Gotta love it!

Purchased to go along with the Philips Hue Starter kit. Love the functionality that goes along with the app and the ability to change the color to whatever your heart desires. Only complaint is they are a little pricey, but the functionality more than makes up for it.

These are great bulbs but The outside packaging is a little confusing. If you only want to dim them then you can connect to a Philips smart light switch. If you want to be able to change colors of the bulbs then you have to get a Philips home hub. But other than that I love them, they set a great mood for the livingroom.

Started out with the white ambient lights, quickly replaced them the 3rd gen hue color lights, they are awesome addition to my family room, lots of third party apps out there to make them even cooler. They are pricey and almost never go on sale, but the cool factor is well worth the plunge if you can afford it.

These Hue 3rd generation color bulbs are very versatile. I love the color scenes and mood lighting for ambiance. I also bought an app that will enhance every aspect of the Hue color lights if you like a little excitement in your life. With the app the bulbs use the disco effect with strobe lights, flashing color lights, etc. all going to the beat of the music through my cell phone. I have a great room that is 45' x 24'' and with just 5 color lights in the room and a couple plain white, at night it looks like a night club with the lights set to whatever I want. Would be great for a karaoke night. They will even go back to plain white lights for reading, etc. when color is not in use and will dim when you tell Echo to dim to 50% etc. There is no end to what you can do with them.

I own hue since 2015 and had started my system with a color Starter Kit 2nd gen, 3 white warm only, 1 dimmer switch and 1 tap. I was really happy about easy of use and installation, integration with Harmony (Logitech) and HomeKit (apple) and the price when compared to wired automations systems. What I want to share is that 3rd gen white and color bulbs have a great enhancement in colors accuracy. This is easily noticed when you put different generations bulbs together in the same room. It is worth it. Now greens and blues are really accurate. And I would also mention that the dimmer switch has been software upgraded and has a configuration that changes up to 5 scenes by clicling the On button. you set the desired scenes in the hue app. wonderful!
