I only use Hue lights in our smarthome ecosystem, the primary benefit being they don't hog the wifi. Instead of each independent light piggybacking on the wifi, hue has a hub that the lights communicate with (not via wifi). That hub is then hardwired to the router. The hue lights might be more expensive than many other smart lights, but many of the other lights will potentially interfere with/bog down your wifi. If you are starting from scratch, at least consider this option before investing in wifi only lights. Also, one hub is more than sufficient for a home (you can pair something like 150 lights per hub).

As I was trying to research this particular bulb, I didn't know I needed to buy a Phillips Hue Bridge Hub. So I ended up purchasing that hub. Set up was straight forward and easy. Love the ability to change the colors, set my own scenes and set the timer. The advantage of owning the Hub is that you can get more bulbs setup easily for your whole home!

If you are like me and change your lights for the seasons or just any reason, you need these. I now only need two bulbs for any color I want.

I have had Google Home and Phillips Hue since the end of next year and have been wanting to try these out. I agree the initial price seems high, but I used to buy different colord lights for different times of the year. So if you only need one bulb to be all the different colors it really does work out about the same. Also you can set them to different modes.

Hue in general is easy to set up and compatible with most smart hub and AI assistants. Quality of light is great, reaction time is almost instant. Totally recommeded.

These bulbs are great! They connect super easy and always remain responsive. I have them throughout the house. Going to add motion sensors next The bulbs can really add up as you move to different rooms. In some cases it would be easier and cheaper to just get a networked light switch.

The whole Phillips Hue system is so easy to use, and these color bulbs are super cool. We use several of them in our main sitting room to create amazing mood lighting.

This bulb is expensive but it always works. The colors are great. The apps have several lighting configurations. Great wow factor with friends who aren’t familiar with them.

Pro: Love that I can change colors and it’s not only (the typical) white. Con: The app is sometimes non responsive which can be a pain.

Before I go any further, you need the Philips Hue Bridge for any of the lights to work with the app. I think it works without it as a standard light, but why would you do that? That said, I already bought the Bridge elsewhere so this was an add on to other lights. I didn't think I would NEED these lights, but after playing around with it a week or so, I actually LOVE them! There are different scenes/settings of lights you can do. I've researched that the 3rd Gen bulbs have the best color. I went for Hue because of the reputable brand, and there's a lot of integration with other Smart Home Systems. I love the different levels of white, brightness, and color. So fun!

Changing the colors on the Hugh lights is a lot of fun. Can really set the mood for movies. The only drawbacks are cost. It seems there are other less expensive options that would work just as well. Also an option for installing a smart switch would save a lot of money but would not give the color options. Works well with Alexa.

I'll admit that I've bought a bunch of Hue products over the years. This one performs admirably. The response between the units and the hub is seamless, and I gain piece of mind knowing I can monkey around with the lights if anything fishy comes up on a motion sensor while I'm away.

These Philips Hue lights are awesome! I originally bought a stsrter kit for my daughter and liked them so much that I bought more bulbs for the rest of the house. Now I’ve only got to figure out how to make them work in a dorm room when my daughter goes away to college next year!

Bought these to expand a third gen starter kit I purchased around christmas. After taking the plunge with $50 bulbs, it works just as I expected. Accurate colors and fast enough response time for my needs. I really like how I can automate my whole home based on preset schedules, or turn on and off certain lights when I get home. Only downsides I've come across are buggy software when rearranging light bulbs room to room solved by a total reset. Also, I wish Alexa was more integrated, as you can only turn lights on and off, not the color. Price is the biggest barrier to entry for people on the fence, but if you can afford it, I would definitely recommend. Its an awesome home upgrade!

So easy to set up and control. We have almost every light in the house using these bulbs now. Mostly use the white colors, but it's fun every now and then to set up a sunset vibe!
