Bought Hub and starter on Prime day
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was curious about the color ambience bulb, the colors are fun for mood, using Hue and other apps to control colors and scenes, but Mainly so it could be used with IFTTT for visual notifications of missed calls, door bell rings, new messages, rainy weather, etc. the price point at normally price was not appealing, but cyber Monday it was almost 50% off, I actually use the ambience setting for warm color temps (<3000K) more than the colors, other than notification.

Better colors than gen 2, but uneven diffusion

But the diffusing coating on the glass part of the bulb is uneven which gives a cheap an unpleasant look to the bulbs. If you're using the bulb in a covered lamp, then no worries.
