Dimming range is the full 100% vice preset (eg 25%, 50% etc) which makes the light source available as a nightlight reading light or whatever you like.

Nice lightbulb

I know it has the wifi connectivity, but $15 for a single bulb is a lot. It works well, lights up brightly but I did have to delete it from the hub twice to get it to reconnect to the network.
