I don't usually write reviews, but I have to on this product. Philips Hue is truly amazing....I now have 9 of the A19 bulbs and 6 of the BR30 bulbs (15 bulbs and still counting)...I can't stop, BE WARNED!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!!! I keep adding more and more to my collection. The setup was pretty easy for me, I never had any problem connecting all 15 bulbs into one bridge. This is great when hosting a party, you can setup different scenes, really cool way to enhance or change any mood. My friends loves them, especially when I flipped it to strobe light using "Hue Party" app (seperate app, highly recommended). Another app that I use a lot is "Hue Camera", changes the way you watch television. Hue Camera and Philips Hue lights creates an Ambilight-like effect when watching TV. I always have this on (I use my ipad since the camera needs to be running at all times), when I watch movies or any of my favorite shows, it makes watching tv more fun, watching the room changes color to the ambiance of the scene. You can also setup geo-fencing (I use the Philips Hue apps, but you can also use IFTT), which essentially allows you to have designated lights turn on or off or set a scene when you approach or leave your home. Every time I leave my home, I look forward to coming home. I love coming home, I love seeing my place lit up in my favorite scene I setup. You can also set alarms with sunrise scene, so when you wake up in the morning, it feels like sunrise (this is great especially right now, since I live in WI, when I wake up in the morning, it is still dark outside). I just bought the Amazon Echo, and let me tell you, this works great with Philips Hue Lights. I just tell "Alexa" which light(s) I want to turn On/Off. I don't have to use my phone :) The only downside with "Alexa" is, she can't change the color of light yet! But I'm sure someone is working very hard to change that :) There are so many more you can do with your Hue Lights with all the available apps, the possiblities are endless (some apps that I highly recommend: Hue Camera, Hue Party, Huemote, IFTT), I am sure you will enjoy these lights. With all the good things, bad things always follows, so here it is. Yes, they are expensive, but it is so worth it in my opinion. Yes, there are some issues with Hue lights. For example, some colors like green, brown don't display as brightly as blue, purple or red (but there's a reason for it, too long to explain it here, google it!). But, I'm okay with this because I don't use Green or Brown that often :) When you turn off the switch, it changes back to default color (plain white), it doesn't remember the color you set it to. So, you have to change the color again. Despite some of the downside, I still love my Hue Lights, I'm sure you will love them too!!!

The system is very easy to set up. The bridge is not wireless as the lights are and does require and open wired port on your router. There seem to be no limits to the number of colors you can set the lights to, pretty much the colors of any picture on your laptop, tablet etc. It is very handy to be able to turn on and off for example your bedroom lights without having to get up. The only drawback perhaps is the cost. Other than that, the product does work as advertised.

Sweet colors and a nice long power cord, what more could you want? Oh, it's programmable and you can turn it on or off when you're not home? Sure, I'll take that too! My only complaint is that it's not cheaper. I want Hue in every room in the house!

I really enjoyed the brightness and colorful lights how it could put on in any room. Unfortunately I needed 12 more bulbs to fill my theater room and at $69 a bulb I just couldn't justify it.... But it is a cold gadget

I really enjoy the lights, however I feel that these lights are way over priced. I stll bought them because I love gadgets. The Hue app itself could be a bit better. I like the fact thatt there are other apps for the lights. I have mine centered around the TV. I also have the light strips under the TV stand. The lights were easy to set up with the network connection. I can control them with my phone. Even with the high cost of the lights, it makes a big difference in the room. The more lights you add the better the ambiance.

I've used home automation products before and so far I'm happy with Hue. I find it responsive, even with my hub buried in the basement. The lights are really nice and present a nice glow. Having them for a few weeks, I'm noticing I'm not suing the color patterns much. I have lux lights and like them better than most regular lights, so will probably move forward with just using those and saving some money. I took off one star for price. The color bulbs are expensive and the lux are a few bucks more than other home automation lights. I use Cree lights as my secondary, they work well with the system.

These bulbs have been available for something like three years and haven't dropped from their sky-high price even a little, so it's hard to give them five stars. Having said that, there are a lot great things you can do with them if you take the time to set them up properly and sift through various third-party apps to find the controls you like best. My favorite use so far is the "alarm" we set for my toddler's room that comes on every weekday morning and slowly increases in intensity and changes color over about a 20-minute period to sort of ease him into getting out of bed.

a bit pricey, but it's nice. ties in with IFTTT. app leaves a little to be desired. can use with taps so you don't always need the app.

The color is just beautiful, soothing from these light. Easy to install, also work with my Wink HUB which is great. No complaints at all, except wishing the prize would be cheaper

Great product if you set all the "Timers and Alarms" up through the HUE online program. I found it difficult to switch between the online app, the phone app, and the tablet app. I didn't like that if you added a 3rd party app, you had to push the HUB button to sync the app and lights together. The colors of the lights are great and extremely bright at max setting. I will be changing out all my light bulbs for these Philips bulbs, it just will take some time based on the EXTREMELY high price of this product. I recommend this product to everyone that has some extra cash to throw around and to all those high tech people.

Definitely for those who wish to set a mood with room lighting. They are fun to play with but the price is a little steep. If you are a person who still uses the 3D feature on your TV, you likely will enjoy a toy like this. I like that it turns off my lights when I leave and turns them back on when I arrive home.

First time using the product; it was easy to use right out of the box. Super easy to connect the bridge to my home wireless network. It was fun turning on the light for my friend when she was at my house, but I was 200 miles away. It doesn't represent green very well. I will be much happier when the price goes down.

The bulbs are pricey but it's an investment in the long run and if into you're into bringing people, you love the different apps for your entertainment.

After having problems with other lighting systems I am very impressed with the quality of this system. The only negative is the high cost.

Fun item, a little more expensive than should be but you pay for what you get.

We bought the kit with three bulbs and a controller. It is awesome to change the light to any color you want or use the pre-programmed themes. The app is easy to use and hooks up in seconds, just follow the simple instructions. Wish I had more lights to fill all the rooms, but it's a bit pricey. Other than the price, I would highly recommend them.

4 stars only because I think everything is just a little over priced. But they all work amazingly and make life so much easier and saved you more money than you would think.

The product seems a bit expensive but works as advertised. I got it with the Tap which I recommend as you want to be able to operate them without a mobile phone.

Overall it's ok if you can afford it. It's a bit pricey for a mood light but makes a great difference on how your living room will look at night.

It spite of the high cost this is a very nice home lighting product. Great for setting up timers and I'm sure there is a lot more to discover.
