Hue Lighting easy to install and control through app

I love the Philips Hue lighting system! It's amazing and addictive. Amazing because you can really set the tone with the different light recipes. Addictive because I keep adding lights to the system. I rate it 4 stars instead of 5 because sometimes the hub just shuts off for no apparent reason. It's a bit annoying. Other than that, I love it!!

I wanted something I could use change colors in my living room while watching a movie and also liked that I can have the light come on at sunset and slowly come on at sunrise in my bedroom. The initial price is steep but the bundle saves you 10 bucks if you bought everything separately. Overall product is very good and works as advertised.

I absolutely *love* these bulbs. The app is well-designed, the hub that connects the bulbs to the app has been improved in the recent iterations, and the new Gen 3 bulbs have more vibrant colors and can accurately represent almost the entire color range. In addition to mood lighting, these bulbs are great for waking up in the morning. I set them to slowly come on over the course of half an hour, and set my alarm to go off at the end of half-hour. So even if I have to get up at 3am, I always get up with a sunrise that helps me wake up easily and pleasantly. Also: energy savings. Tons of them. Just make sure not to put these in any enclosed lighting fixtures, as the heat buildup will cut the life of the bulb by 75% or so.

I would highly recommend this starter kit. I installed it today and it was fairly straightforward. I am using Homekit and Apple TV (4th gen) as my hub. It took me a little extra time to set up because I had to set up two-factor authentication (which I believe is a must) and the only way I could get the hub to work was to remove Apple TV from the "devices that were associated with my Apple ID" and remove Homekit and then sign back in etc (in Settings on the Apple TV. Once I figure all of this out, the lights work great and I have already set up a "scene" etc so that when I come home (Apple knows by location services) and it is past sunset, the lights go on. Pretty cool stuff! Can't wait to set up additional "scenes" etc.

It's a good product, the android app is simple to use and doesn't required advanced computer skills to setup the hub.

I love these lights! They are *super* fast to set up, very easy to use, and offer some really fun lighting situations for all occasions. Extra bulbs are a must, but it's easy to expand one room at a time.

This kit is really good. If you are on the iOS ecosystem you can just use the HomeKit integration. You dont even need to use their app. Right from control center you can control the light and color

Setup took only a few minutes. The Hue app is easy to use and Siri makes allows voice commands to change light colors. You can still use the switch to power the lights if no voice source is available.

Setting up these bulbs was incredibly easy, you just need to connect the provided up to a wireless router and follow instructions. Then you can control them using many different apps. They work great with Google Home! Occasionally, they sometimes disconnect from the hub, but that only happens for a few seconds.

At first I thought my purchase was a impulse purchase. After having the product for a week. It's actually a one of my best purchase to date. It's cool that you can change the light colors but I am using it as security feature and to turn on the light in my room upstairs instead of walking into dark room and fumbling around looking for the light switch. How I use the lights as a security feature is turning the lights on while I'm not home with an app.

These Hue starter sets are always the best value for price per item. Its significantly more expensive to get each item individually. I got this as part of a google home bundle and it was pretty much a steal. As always, the hue system works flawlessly. It one of the fastest systems I have seen.

Wanted to pair it with alexa. Works well with voice control for the most part. Was amazing for the price.

This was a perfect way to begin my smart light journey. I have three pendants above my kitchen island. They were on a dimmer switch and we would always play with the switch t suit the mood and time of day. We lived with what we had but it was never perfect. With this starter kit which I set up in less than 20 minutes, I now have total control, timers set, multiple moods to choose from. can control from kitchen tablet, phone or Hue switches which I purchased separately. For this application I will say it was worth the money. Only issue I have is that I want to add more lights and the cost cant be as easily justified as it was for this application.

This 3rd gen starter kit is awesome. Easy to set-up and connect. Remembers previous setting when shut off. Deep blues and greens. Well detained app- does the trick and works as expected.
