I love being able to change the colors of the lights, the dimness, etc. I use two of the bulbs for my kids instead of night lights and they have worked well. I need to play around with the app more, but so far it has been great using them.

Admittedly, I was skeptical with purchasing this item at first since I could not think of a practical use for the lights for the price; however, after purchasing Google home I saw a good use for them. I set up the lights in lamps throughout my house, and I use Google home to turn them on and off with my voice. This is great if your arms are full or if you would like to turn on lights and are far from the light switch. The only caveat I found is that it is a little tricky to set up with Google home; however, I am now satisfied with the purchase.

The lights are great I can program them anyway I want. I was not expecting all the different hues and how easily it is to adjust the lights.

I use these with Google home. It's really neat how they sync with Google so I can just tell Google Home to turn on different room lights. Still too pricey to make every room automated. Would give it 5 stars if the bulbs weren't so expensive.

Bought this together with Alexa. It's wonderful how you can control everything anywhere as long as you are connected to the internet. Different color scheme also nicely adds serenity to your room when you are trying to relax. The main problem with the light is delay. Controlling the light is not as snappy as I would've hoped. Alex voice command sometimes does not respond at all. I tried different signal channel but the problem continues to exist. I thought about returning it but I got a good deal for it and I hope future updates can address the delay issue. Other than that, Hue light is certainly a pricey little toy that can add a little more flavor to your room.

Philips - Hue White and Color Ambiance A19 Starter Kit is good

For some odd reason, there is no ceiling light in my apartment's living room. This led me to try to figure out a way to do things differently. Bought 3 light fixtures from Ikea, put one on each side of my projector and tv and one in the back of the room, bought a dimmer switch and voila, light in my living room. Not just light though, beautiful shades of light for every occasion. Also syncs with smartphone app and harmony remote so you can set it up in your activities and have the lights go off when the TV comes on, etc.

This kit comes with the newest Bridge and three of the improved color bulbs. Overall, I like the Hue lights a lot. They work especially well for lamps. I don't care for them as much for switched lights because they do not save the last setting it was on or allow a default color to be set, which is more of an annoyance than a deal breaker. It's pretty annoying to make the light exactly how you like it and the switch gets switched off. When it switches back on, it's back to a default soft white rather than the last color or a preferred color. If that's the color you want on at all times, might as well buy a regular led bulb. Hue could fix this minor annoyance by allowing users to set a default color when switched on. Other than that minor hiccup, I'm very pleased with this set.

Hey all - I have no Android or iPhone devices but you can indeed set this up with Windows 10. I used a 3rd party app called "Huetro." Took off one star since they don't offer a Windows platform app direct from Philips. The app has crashing and disconnect issues but it will reconnect fairly quickly so it does the job. Note the official Hue app seems fine at my parents house for Apple platform. The key is that the Windows app can indeed be used for initial setup. There are plenty of other Windows apps out there supposedly as well. Didn't try others yet. You can check the Hue Reddit website and search or ask about more Windows options if needed. Overall awesome lights, my parents have them also, totally worth it if it's what you're looking for brightness/color adjustments on the fly.

These light are great and I pair them with Amazon Alexa took a bit to figure out but the effects are great that you can do with app

So easy to set up and use, works wonderfully with Google Home! App works great and you can set all kinds of colors it's amazing.

saw the previews on YouTube, love the variety of colors you can change depending on the mood. a little pricey though neat gadget.

Nice color Ambiance light bulbs but a little expensive.

This product was easy to install and program. The app also works very well. Also was very easy to connect with the Amazon Echo.

my only complaints are: -official philips mobile app has a free version but also a "pro" version. the starter kit is $200, just include the pro version for free. -getting the lights working with Amazon Echo was unintuitive/harder harder than it should be -if you turn off a light from the switch (rather than the app), then turn it back on, it doesn't keep the color it was set to prior to powering off (minor annoyance, but happens often w/ guests over or something) -wish they were less expensive

Only con I could find is that there is no wireless wifi to home network. Besides that, this is a great way to automate your home lighting. Pair it with Google home and stringify or IFTTT for true automation.

Great product. we use the color lights in the kids bedroom as night lights. they love changing the colors before bedtime. They are a little expensive. I don't have voice activation yet but that might make them even better.

I've used LIFX for over a year and wanted to get into Phillips. While the colors are nice I found the app not as nice to work with as the Lifx app. Overall the bulbs work good and connect with more items then others.

Took very little setup time and has worked perfectly for me in my apartment. Liked this starter kit so much I purchased light strips a week later to add to it. Everyone that has come over has been impressed.
