    If you do not need the features of the white or color ambience lamps these work fine for just on/off or varying levels of light. They are not supposed to be used outdoors according to the manufacturer but I use them in a covered/protected area and they work just fine (coach lamps by the garage). They are also very affordable and even cheaper if you buy the 4 pack.
