I purchased the starter kit and added an additional light and it all worked as advertised. I am very pleased with these lights.

Great add on lights to the Phillips Hue system. I use it with my smartthings home automation system and it integrates fine.

Great product, I use them in very socket of my apartment. Only downside is they could be brighter and the native app sucks.

I've had them a little over a year now. I haven't had any troubles at all and i'm always playing with them.

Just like the starter kit the light output is great. Very expensive for a single bulb but cost per day is pennies

so many use cases and so much fun. these connect at surprisingly long distances from the hub for me.

Once you find the right app for you (too many to choose from) the lights can be dimmed and customized for great ambiance. The energy savings is great too! It is nice to set the light to go on when you walk in the house.

Great light bulbs! Give of good colors except for dark greens which is more like a lime green.

The hue system and bulbs are great. Slowly transitioning all my bulbs to hue bulbs.

Bought this for a friend he really likes the vue system.

This bulb serves as a standard bulb and multicolor LED. However it can't reproduce green or light blue very well.

I must say I'm 40 years old and I have t been so ecstatic about a product since I was in my early teens toe army twenties. My wife doesn't get any enjoyment from them but i love that i can set the color to anything at any brightness and still consume less energy than any bulb out there. The lifx bulb isn't as good because it's more expensive, doesn't have the same warranty and the illumination part of the bulb doesn't have as big a surface area. The result is less lumens. Yes you need a bridge but the result is a greater range. You can also set these to brighten and simulate a sunrise with the alarm in the morning. Con is They are expensive but I think they're worth it for me

These bulbs are small but their payload is huge! I did not know that simply changing lighting effect could make such a dramatic difference in ambiance. We purchased three of these A19 LED bulbs along with the starter kit and configured the bulbs to our liking, base on time of day and occasion. To fully appreciate the hue LED system, you'll need to shell out for additional bulbs, which unfortunately means $$$. But nothing screams home after a long day of work and commute like having these lights automatically turn on and set to a specific color scene as you walk to the fridge and grab a beer.

these are very bright!! i got this to use with my wink hub. the hookup is very easy.

We have about 6 of these bulbs now all over the house! We love these lights. We use the wink hub to control them from our phones. They are great when we have people over. They are absolutely a conversation piece!

The Philips LED bulbs are absolutely awesome. It took about 10 minutes to swap out my existing bulbs for the LED bulbs and then about 10 minutes to set up the bridge. The app downloaded in seconds and the whole system worked flawlessly right out the box. I spent an hour just playing with all the fun color options and building my own custom light diplays. This is a great option for anyone getting into the home automation aspect of electronics. I can control my lights from anywhere and set it to timers. There are also some cool apps that will control the lights along with music for parties or holiday fun. The only downside so far has been the initial investment. $60 a bulb is a little expensive, but so far I have no buyers regret and enjoy the bulbs much more than expected.

If you want a cheap multicolored smart bulb then this is a pretty good deal but I preffer LIFX smart bulbs. They may be around $20 more expensive but they dont require a bridge to connect to. Also any bulb can be set as the main bulb and the quality and design is superior to the Phillips smart bulbs. The higher cost is worth it in my opinion. I said no I wouldn't recommend this to a friend because I would recommend LIFX smart bulbs over any other smart bulb. LIFX was the first creator of the smart bulb as we know it today. If it weren't for LIFX we might not have smart bulbs yet.

You can connect this standard bulb with ease to a hub if you have one already. If you don't I recommend getting the starter kit that will come with the A19 included.
