Not as good as the other hue products

Save Your Money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my opinion only and based off of 6mos to 1 year of owning. The Philips Hue lighting system is horrible. The iphone app is poor (being kind) and the lights will loose contact with the hub on a daily basis. The website is poor and has very little helpful information. Purchased this hub to replace the same style that absolutely would not work on a regular basis. Was instructed by BestBuy to purchase another as nothing else had resolved the issue. The new one is no better. Truly believe this is just really crappy technology. The light will work occasionally. Very poor technical support.

Color isn’t right
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cant get the color to match up with the Hue light strips. There is no way to get them to match. This light sticks out big time when near the light strips.

Phillips lamp
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The lamp design is nice however the LEDs are not very bright. Would be good for a corner just as a small accent. I was looking for something more bold.

Mood lighting only
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hoping that this would be a stronger light. It really just works as a complement rather than a standalone light because it's just not bright enough.

Great compliment for your Hue system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this is a great product for your Hue system. Chances are, most people reading this probably already have some of the "regular" Hue A19 and/or BR-30 bulbs, and while they are a stellar product, you probably know by now that they cant really make a deep green or turquoise. Well, consider the blooms the exact compliment. They make very rich and deep greens and turquoise, and can make ANY other color that the regular bulbs can. I read somewhere once that the Blooms cant really make white, but that's not really true, because they do make a pretty good pure white, so not really sure what those people are talking about. Now, brightness...by no means are these as bright as the BR-30s #just check out their lumen output numbers#, but don't fret...the blooms still put out easily enough light to accent a room corner, behind a table, give uplighting, etc. I have mine a solid 6 feet from the corner of a wall and it easily throws up enough light to color the whole corner. You wouldn't really want to use these every day to read, but think of them as a hip mood-lighting for watching a movie, or like uplighting at a wedding where a room can be transformed from a boring color to a vivid pink, turquoise, or red. These really are for accenting, not as primary lighting. Overall, a great product. The ONLY reason I am taking off a star is because of the design. One would think that a light whose primary purpose is accenting would swivel so that it could be pointed almost straight up for uplighting, but this is not the case. They are rigid and don't form much of an angle with the floor at all, so on both of my blooms I had to kind of wedge a piece of paper which I folded many times under the small base to get them to angle up the wall so they could throw up light more....otherwise they would have lit up maybe the first 3-4 feet of the wall height and stopped, but propped up like that now they do 10 feet or more. So....I wish the base was flush against the floor and they could tilt up, but the fix is easy.

Not what the box leads you to believe
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does not sync with tv. Have to use a app and your phones camera pointed at the tv to change light.

Did not work, not online support
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased a whole slew of these...brought home super excited. I have two wifi networks both encrypted. Lots of forum browsing and playing aorund....nothing would get these to work. Had to return disappointed. I do appreciate the Best Buy return policy, saved me once again with this product.

Great Accent Light
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a nice little lamp that can add color to the room and give it a very nice relaxing, vibrant, or whatever other feel you want it too. Works well with the Hue app as well as any of the other supporting apps. The only downside is it does not give you options for the regular color temperatures (cool, warm, daylight, etc.) instead you are stuck to the color pallet which makes you kinda guess where each one would be.

Great behind TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the bloom behind my 50in TV in my bedroom and i LOVE it. really creates a good ambiance while watching movies and the fact that it pairs with all my other wifi bulbs for color change/turning on off is perfect. would definitely reccommend

Great accent light for Hue.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are familiar with the Philips Hue lights than this is a no brainer as a great addition to your Hue system. The bloom spot light isn't as powerful as the Iris but I believe it serves a different person to spot light items in your home.

1 Day
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased generation 3 of Hue lighting for my living room and was delighted with the results, but something was lacking. I needed a little flair behind my tv, so I picked up the Hue Bloom. It was a flawless installation and completed the ambiance I was hoping to achieve, however, that was short lived. The darn thing only worked for a day and a half. It went dark and never turned back on. Trying to do the right thing I contacted Phillips They told me to download a software package that could solve my problem. Too bad the software had no executable file, so that was worthless. I returned for an exchange. The next one lasted 2 days before going dark and dead. Contacted Philips and they assured me the newest generation did not have this same issues as previous generations. I sent it back to Philips so lets see how long it take for them to send the replacement. Sad, that they seemed to have rushed a product to market before it was completely ready for consumer use.

Could be brighter...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As is to be expected from Philips hue, the setup and quality of this light is great. I just expected it to be a little bit brighter for use as an accent light behind our TV. I ended up having to buy two to get the desired effect.

Loses a star for what the packaging does not show
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Note: This was my first foray into the colored side of Hue and I can see the appeal! I honestly assumed this was a rechargeable product. Take a good look at the box and you'll see no power cord depicted in photos, and they are failed to receive mention in the description on the box. Other than that, it's a good quality item, capable of producing just about any color you can think of. It's a full spectrum light. One other concern you might have, given the power cable, is placement. it is an accent light that should be tucked away out of sight. Not you must keep in mind that an outlet has to be nearby. This could limit its utility. All in all, a product I liked, but not without its drawbacks.

Additional Touch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It doesn't light up the wall as much as I would have liked, but nonetheless it adds a great touch to our living room. With thousands of color choices, it sets the mood for any setting.
