It even works when the internet is down and it is perfect for setting scenes wothoit usving to your your phone or voice assistants.

I have the older model (square remote) and was expecting similar functionality. The new one takes some getting use to, but overall isn't bad. One thing I like is the magnet bits are in the remote now, versus the older model where the magnets are in the base plate. So this can be stuck somewhere without it's base plate.
