The bad: the instructions aren't great. The steps are very straight forward, but unless you can intuitively learn that this is an ethernet device (like a printer) and that you need to use an app to set it up (like chromecast), you're going to get a little frustrated. Once you're done, though, it is literally magic. Especially if you have Alexa or Google Home. I'm teaching my toddler to turn off lights he cannot reach using his voice (going to be a while).

Excellent product. Ease of install/setup, use & function. Its amazing how lighting can do so much to a room.

I have been into automating light and appliances for many years now. I have used several platforms with different technologies. I am really liking the wifi platform that these are based on. it seems to be much more reliable then the past systems. not effected by noise that gets created by noisy electric motors that can distort the signal causing reliability problems. Not quite found the perfect program to control thing well yet. But, I can see the potential.

They're nice and look great but price is to high and you can only use there light bulbs,i like lutron better

These bulbs are expensive, but great. I'm slowly replacing all the bulbs in my home with Hue.

Bought these to go with other hue lights in the house and they work great. A bit pricey but fun none the less.

I do lighting design for dance performances, theater and because of that I was looking for a reliable lighting setup to bring the entertainment to my living room. After reading some reviews I decided to give Phillips Hue a shot. I'm happy I did, the setup took me less then 10 minutes and the lights were up and running flawless with the iPhone app. You have to experience what is to watch a movie with the right lighting, it feels like a movie theater!!

I was just going to to give it a try in one room of my house but now I have expanded to most of the house. Little by little I will convert everything over. These lights are a must have for anyone. They sync to Nest and Amazon Echo, now I can voice control any of the Philips Hue lights. My kids think it is the best thing ever, they can have dance parties or set the lights to an eerie glow when they tell scary stories. I highly recommend Philips Hue products.
