I also have a pair of the LIFX color 1000 bulbs. The hue products work really really well. I bought one of the magnetic dimmer control switches and absolutely love it. They work instantaneously. As far as comparing these to the LIFX, they are not as bright and the colors are a bit more washed out, but are still really nice. In addition the LIFX has a nicer app. That being said I am going to buy more hue products that will integrate into the bridge. Everything just works which is really nice.

Great Starter Pack

I got them for a great sale at $120 on black Friday. I dont really need all the colors, which is why I went second gen as compared to the richer colors on the 3rd gen. The bulbs have been great. The dimming and brightness is awesome. They were easy to set up and work flawlessly with my echo dot. I wish the app was a little better, but hopefully it will improve.
