    I am starting to investigate the "Homekit" products seriously for my home and I have a Homekit plug and thermostat that I really like. Sooo I had heard a great deal about the Hue lights and thought I would find out what they were about. My friend has these and really likes them but I never see them on. Setting up was pretty easy and the manual they give you is worthless. It tells you to go to the web site which is pretty weak at best. The light effects are nice but not practical. In many of the dark ones you can not see in the room and the colors look great on a package but terrible light source.Plus all the cool apps they advertise you have to pay for. You can not change your choices of being on or off or effects outside your wifi area unless you do it online. iDevice uses Siri anyway in the world. I hated to have to go online to change anything on the Hues. iDevice really got it right (though you have to have a Apple TV). Overall, for $179.99 the Homekit capable Hue is a total waste of money. Very over rated.

    Good lights, but i would get the 3rd gen now. The Blues and Greens are not even there in the 2nd gen.
