I bought this recently and am very impressed with how fast it seems to recognize motion. I set it up in a hallway that is used often and because my kids kept leaving the light on when they would go up and down the stairs so this solves that problem. I didn't know it also had a light sensor and a temp sensor integrated which is also a nice bonus. I may buy a couple more at some point but so far this is working great!

Hue Motion Sensors are incredibly useful. We use them inside closets so the closet light turns on when we open the door and turns off a minute after closing. I gave one to my mom to use on a stairway so that the light at the top of the stairs turns on as she gets to the bottom. She's taken a couple of falls and now she doesn't have to worry about tripping because of it being dark. If you use a third party Hue app, you can even get a temperature reading from each sensor! These are just a couple of ideas :-)

The Hue Motion Sensor is great at performing the simple task of turning a light on when it detects motion and off when the motion stops. I have it in a pantry that previously used a pull-cord for turning on and off the light. Now the light goes on when you open the door and goes off 1 minute after you leave the pantry. Simple. I originally tried to use it to provide a night light on a lamp in the living room. The software is not sophisticated enough to know how to quit being a motion sensor light and just turn over manual control to the user when you want a different brightness setting or you want the light to stay on. After some frustration with lights turning on or off when used in this model, I gave up and moved it to the simple on/off application in the pantry, where it works great.

Definitely worth the investment. I started using Hue bulbs about four years ago and have slowly added to the collection. Now I have over 30 items connected to the bridge. The motion sensors are worth their weight in gold. The dimmer switch too. My electric bill went down by $11/month when I installed motion sensors in the basement. Now the lights turn on and off automatically. I liked them so much I added a motion sensor in the kitchen, stairway, laundry room and the utility room. I thought I could save some money by getting a small handful of white bulbs and wish I had only invested in the color changing bulbs. I have my entire house automated. The lights turn on and off at specific times, dim and even change colors depending on the time of day. It is definitely a "set it and forget it" kind of thing. No more stumbling through the dark looking for a light switch or forgetting to turn a light off or getting blinded by a bright light in the middle of the night. Bedtime routines are a breeze with the automatic dimming and color changing bulbs. The Hue system definitely makes my life easier.

I am a huge fan of Hue products and this is another one I really like. Not only is it a motion sensor but it also is a light sensor and a temperature sensor!! I now have two in the house for both my bathrooms. Just walk in and the lights turn on! (it’s also nice to open the Hue app and find out the temperature in the rooms) I would absolutely recommend... but like any of the Hue products, they are a little pricey, but don’t let that deter you from purchasing!

This bad mama-jama can be programmed easily to do just about any action. You will never trip on your way to the can at 3am, so go for that one last beer before bed, and drink it with conference.

I love my motion sensor. I was tired of using my phone to turn on my lights by either going to the hue app, or using Siri to turn them on, now I just walk into the room and all of my lights turn on to a predetermined setting like magic. It comes with a setting that allows you to change the style of lights that come on at different times of day. This allows you to put on a dimmer light for the night when you're just walking around, or have your lights come on much brighter for during the day. A fantastic addition to my hue collection. No complaints.

I have a few different types of smart lights. I have some Lutron Caseta, some iDevices and some Philips Hue. The Hue bulbs go beyond basic functionality. I bought this for a theater room and I have it set up so the moment you walk in the light will automatically turn on. The work as advertise. My favorite feature about this is the ability to set up how the light behave depending on the time of the day. I have mine to turn white during daylight and dimmed warm light at night.

Works like a charm! Through the Hue app, one can schedule one or group of lights that can light up on motion. The app has lot of different features - color behavior, scheduling, light behavior on motion, time you want the lights to be on on motion detection and host of features that make it not only a useful must have but also fun to play around with! 4 stars because at times the motion detection is faulty - does not detect motion, or sometimes the lights stay on after motion is detected (I have programmed to turn off after 5 mins after motion detection)

A must have if you are trying to automate your philips hue lights. I use it in the hallway to turn my lights on and off like night lights. The sensor radius is pretty good for such a small sensor and there isn't much of a delay once it detects motion and then turns on the philips bulbs that are installed in the hallways.

I had no idea that this little device not only sensed motion (or the lack of motion), but it also is a Room Temp monitor that can connect to my HomeKit as well as to my HomeKit Thermostat to trigger my heater/AC. Philips Hue Bulbs are awesome, and I have my whole bedroom now attached to my motion, via HomeKit and the Philips HUE app. Thanks for continuing HomeKit support, Philips!
