The motion sensor works well when everything the room. Sometimes it takes some larger motions to turn back on if you are laying on the couch. But great for coming home and having instant light when you walk through the door. The app doesn't give you a lot of freedom when using is. Can be annoying when watching a movie and someone is moving the lights turn on. You can deactivate the sensor which is nice, but then you have to remember to deactivate it. That would be an improvement if deactivating the sensor could be put on a timer.

I bought this for bedroom. Each time I walk in, the lights turn on. Love it.

The motion sensor is probably the favorite part of my Hue setup. I have one in my laundry room that turns the light on when I enter and off automatically a minute after I leave. Have only very rarely had issues with it not responding. Like the Hue dimmer, it has a hidden LED that shows device status and when something goes wrong.

I placed it on the stairs and it works well. I'm very happy.

As with all Philips Hue items, you will need a Philips Hue Bridge to use this item. With the stock app this sensor can trigger the lights in up to three rooms. You can set up each selected room to have different settings for the day and the night. I've had no issues installing this in a small bathroom with a shower and the steam has not prevented it from detecting movement.
