You get a variety of different options on how you would like to use the sensor to control your lights. It even has a thermometer built in so you can see the temperature in the Apple Home app (although it's not always accurate depending on placement)

The room that it is in has a pull chain light in the middle of the room. The sensor is great. We just stick our heads in the door- way, the light comes on, we can see. We set it so our "critters" don't set it off. Works great for us so far and saved us having to rewire.

Nice Hue Motion Sensor

It works really well and I like you can change the length of time for the lights to turn off. I have this in a room that we walk into at night, and it's nice not to have to look for the switch. The sensor "senses" us as soon as the door is opened. Very well made and highly recommend if you have the hue lights.
