You can set it up however you want. It can be set up for lights to remain on/off for however long and can also be set up to turn on at whatever type of ambiance you want to set up. Love it.

Using as Temperature Monitor

There is a Hue Labs app that lets you set high and low points to monitor and then notify you via your hue lights if those temperatures are exceeded.

Does just what I wanted it to

Works great. Turns out I didn’t even have to screw it into the wall because where I wanted to put it must have a metal support behind it, so the sensor is being held up magnetically.
