Works great!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought for my hue lightstrip and works perfectly. Only recommendation I would have is to come with remote or easier way to switch between inputs. A little overpriced for what it does but everything hue is that way.

Amazing, home theater immersion
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.11/2/2020 update: I returned the 1st Hue sync box (defective) and bought another. The 2nd one works perfectly and is amazing. Each side of the tv lights up the corresponding 3 hue lights in my room (left right ceiling).

Epic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an absolute if you really want to immerse into your gaming or movie realm. Somewhat over priced but you can tell this thing is made well. App is easy to use and the auto features are a must for quick power on and play.

Not bad, but needs some work
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So this device definitely helps for watching movies - it's hard to use the lights for movies without this device if you want to use your smart TV, or a TV box. Most excitement comes from Game mode (not video mode) on most extreme setting, however the app won't let you define the lights "physically" in the right position to get the box software to process it optimally (am speculating here based on me changing the settings and seeing the outcome). The app assumes that the lights can not be behind the sitting area or further back behind the TV. And if you add the TV lights and combine them with ceiling lights, the processing seem to not perform as well, compared to if you have only one of the types of lights selected. I hope they improve the firmware and will definitely give 5 starts - fun ether way :)

Realllllly Wanted to Keep it.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was an early adopter of Philips HuE lighting system. Purchasing the HuePlay was a no brainer no hesitation purchase. After about a week it became a little annoying. It was hooked up in my bedroom and basically forced me to always use the hue lighting while watching ANYTHING. That was a no-go especially when I was not home and my non tech savvy wife would be calling me every 45 minutes saying the TV wasn’t working or the lights kept going on blah blah blah. Will repurchase once I have a dedicated theater room. But other than that LOVED this product

Stunning
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gave me the added effects that I was missing during movies, gaming, and sports. There are a few caveats that are discussed on length in other forums but truth be told, I really enjoy this product and can wait for future updates.

Too Inconsistent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay but too inconsistent. When it works, it’s amazing. When it doesn’t, you end up troubleshooting everything from connections to device settings. This feels more like a BETA test instead of a finished product. I’m hoping for a software update at some point. This device is way too expense to perform this way. I’ve tried technical support but have gotten nowhere. This is a great concept but simply put, it’s a “concept”. I gave it two stars, because it’s nice, when it works.

Phillips Hue Sync Box
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up. Easy to use. Works great and is worth getting if on sale. Only negative is no HDMI 2.1 support (only HDMI 2.0)

Fun addition to media setup
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sync Box is a fun addition to my media setup. Movies/Shows feel more immersive when lights are synced to content. Sometimes HDMI pass through fails and it is necessary to disconnect and reconnect the HDMI cables.

Not worth the price!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you’ve had Hue lights for a while, you probably have already used hue sync on your computer to make your lights sync up to the screen. Same thing here, but finally with the TV. Was so excited for this, but when I saw how much it was I was kinda shocked. I still forked over the money and set it up. While it is cool having the sync, I never used it enough to actually justify the outrageous price. Hue lights are excellent and work great, but they keep gouging loyal fans more and more and it’s frustrating giving so much money to maintain the Hue ecosystem. Returned the Sync box because it’s just not worth what they are charging for it.

Blown away.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this to go with 2 Hue Playbars I have setup as bias lighting behind my 65” OLED. Thought it would be a fun gimmick to play with every once in a while. Now I can’t believe I waited this long. Especially with games, the world just spills right out of the TV with these lights and Sync. Every time I jump into Ghost of Tsushima, the dynamic lighting brings that world to life. Death means the whole room flashes red with defeat. Only problem now is my wife wants more play bars for more even lighting!

Pricey, but worth for ambient light movie watch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Using this for oled tv with gradient light strip and hue play bars. This makes watching movies a lot more fun. Just wish it support 2.1

Audio/video constantly needs adjusting for +
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mostly glitch free. Only issue is keeping settings from interfering with tv and audio devices. Most notable is the audio and video quality on my tv and soundbar, no matter what, I end up having to toggle the settings through my Samsung TV directly to switch it back to Dolby digital and streaming primarily through Firestick 4k, switching between apps doesnt integrate automatically. Would be nice not to have to adjust the settings between Hulu, YouTube etc literally several times a day, at times, during streaming one event! Does anything do Dolby +? I know most of the stuff i watch is available in 4k and I'm pretty savy about audio and video quality...makes ALL the difference!

Works great
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use, I use it on my Xbox one X and a Sony Bravio TV 4K looks good. The app is also user friendly I’d you use the Hue light app. You’ll have no problems The only negative is the device does not support Adobe Atmos

Expensive, compounding costs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very expensive if you’re only interested in the Philips light strip for your tv. Often cuts out, finicky. If I’d have known about the GE products I probably wouldn’t have bought this.
