1st Defective, 2nd Works Great, Needs 120FPS Gamin
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First Hue Play Box I received cleary seemed used, I spent over 2 hours trying to get it to work. I was really disappointed, especially after reading reviews with the same issue. After I returned it I decided to try one more time. When I received the 2nd box it, it’s set up worked and ran into zero issues and I love using it for movies and music. My only critique is not being able to play my PS5 with 120 FPS. I hope they make this upgrade soon. Also, I’ll be sure to add insurance to this since a lot of reviews are saying it stops working after a bit.

Feel it’s over priced for what it does.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought it to sync my hue play lights with my games but with update it works good. Only problem is that it will turn on the lights while playing but won’t turn them off

Pricey Pricey Pricey but pretty cool
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Eventually these will be priced right at $100. But if your like me and couldn’t wait and have a bunch of hue strips around your tv it makes for a pretty immersive experience

For cinephiles
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have the smart home hue setup and love movies/music/TV then this is an amazing device that will adaptively change your hue lights to match the mode or tone of what you're playing. It does have a bit of a hefty price tag so I wouldn't recommend to a non-enthusiast but have always enjoyed the hue as moonlights for my viewing and this really enhances the effect like having a private movie theater

Good for what it does.. Still Pricey
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally an easy and supported way to sync your lights to your entertainment unit. The price point is enough to scare a lot of people away. Setup is a breeze. Easy to control.

Not a bad product
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good product. Only 2 complaints. I think the price could be better. The box gets pretty hot touch when in use for a lengthy (2hr movie) period of time.

Good
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this little box but it is expensive. Fun to use to watch movies and listen to music and have a cool ambience if you have more than just the two lights .

Excellent hdmi switch
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have hue light strips behind my tv for ambient light. I also have two vertical strips hidden behind some trim on either side of my tv. This has worked much better than expected. Used as a hdmi switch: My previous hdmi switch would get confused by always on devices like the Nvidia shield or a firestick. This one has always gone to the correct device. The only con we have with the auto switching is when my wife turns on my PS4 by accident. That has nothing to do with this device in particular and just about hdmi switches in general. A major pro is you can open the app to select the hdmi device to use. My old switch has a crappy ir remote that would cycle through devices, turning each one on as you cycle through it. This will allow you to label each device and choose what to use. As a ambient light source: This works great for movies and games. For general tv shows, it’s mainly shades of white and not too noticeable. I have mine set to the most subtle setting and think that works great for movies. Action packed games may benefit from more dynamic modes. This is expensive, don’t get me wrong. I had many issues with our previous hdmi switch (I could get it working fine but my wife couldn’t figure it out). This has been a plug and play device and my wife hasn’t even had to think about it at all. There isn’t really anything to figure out, it works great with the always on devices that are problematic with the 30-40$ hdmi switches. The hue lighting is awesome and I really enjoy having the ambient light.

Great for Entertainment
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great in the Living room. Can have it sync my Hue Play Bars I have behind the TV while watching a movie, or Light up the Living room while playing some music. It also cleaned up the wiring I had going to the TV because all my HDMI cables now go to this box and I only have 1 HDMI cable going to the TV. Philips recently added IR support to the box so you can program a universal making it easier to use.

A beautiful gadget
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This works intuitively with my existing entertainment center structure and has made anything from shows to video games more interesting with a fun visual faire. I wish this still came in a set with the light strip itself, but, both of these together are worthwhile in any home theatre.

Not to bad of a device!

Good, but over priced
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great concept and even my family likes it’s purpose. Way overpriced, so I’m not sure I’d recommend it based of the price. Otherwise it’s pretty cool.

Difficult to work but real cool
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is great.... when it works correctly. I can't tell you how many times I've had to "restart" "resync" and "rebangmyhead" to get this working. The picture initially kept cutting in and out on my xbox one x. The app would not always recognise the lights, the switch won't go to the correct input, etc.. Long story short, I would only recommend this if you're good with tech and willing to solve those types of problems. But boy oh boy is it awesome when its working 100%
