Great addition to your home theater

Does what its supposed to do.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a really weird setup due to being forced to have Home Telecom and the cable box they provided. I hooked it up stand alone and it worked great, exactly like I was hoping it would. I now just have to figure out how to hook everything else (PS4, Blu-ray etc) so they all work. I would definitely buy this again.

Another good product to add to your Hue family
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well this box does what it says and its pretty darn good at it too. I was worried about my video quality being degraded or even lag as the Sync box is a pass through but I haven't noticed any of either (1080 or 4k.) After setting up your "Entertainment" area in the hue app or sync app (yes, you need a separate app for the sync box) your hue lights will color sync with your display (if you have color bulbs of course.) There's a very slight delay in the syncing process but nothing major (no stars lost there.) Overall, the Sync box is great and does the job; the sync app however, is another story. I consider the device being new and all but a separate app? Maybe I'm a little frustrated with how the app functions or maybe its layout, I honestly dont know but it's something. Perhaps it's me and how I have the app setup to run. Maybe the sync box needs it's own physical remote? With four inputs you have to switch somehow right; but then again, who needs another remote laying around? This box works, it's fun and creates a cool setup. Get it on sale if you can.

I like the Hue Play Sync Box
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the Hue Play Sync Box. I use it when gaming and also when watching movies. I read the reviews before buying this and was prepared for some of the issues. I have 4K HDR tv and when I have a video played thru the sync box it seems like the quality suffers a little. I don’t mind it though. I have Philips Hue BR30s, several Lightstrips and Play Bars synced with it and they all respond well to the video on the TV. Overall, I like it.

Overpriced, but does what it says
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I does what it says it will do... Kind of a novelty item changing light color on the wall behind the screen. But we like it, and it is a little more immersive. My screen goes staticy about once a week when using this. The signal passes thru this box on the way to the tv and and something glitches out. I've tried new hdmi cables but it still does it. Not a show stopper... Hopefully addressed in firmware soon.

Good sync box for lighting.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good product that works well. The only issue I have is you really have to figure out the settings in the app. If you want your tv lights to work when you turn on and off the tv correctly connect a usb cable from the box to the tv.

Pretty Good, but Expensive Even On Sale
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked this up when it was on sale, but I still feel that it's a bit pricey for what it does. I've found it annoying when watching TV, as commercials are always bright and flashy, which results in my walls also becoming bright and flashy... but it's nice for movies if you play with settings and find a level that doesn't distract too much. I also wish I could use normal Hue app to activate, having a standalone app for this seems needless.

Favorite
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the best Philips/Smart products on the market. No other tv light system will sync better than the Philips Sync box. Totally worth the money.

Excellent
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s amazing when you have the perfect set up, can be misleading in regards to light functionality. I have 10 lights total and have been enjoying rewatching all the classic Disney movies, it’s amazing. WiFi should be strong connection or it’ll be a pain in the butt to set up. We had to wire things to our audio setup to get through the sync, too. Tricky at first but alas I’m married to an engineer.

It works great!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its great!!! If you use your gaming consoles, cable box, firestick, etc then this is for you. The box will only sync to your lights if its directly connected to a HDMI source. So it wont work with smart tvs. But it works flawlessly with games on my PS5,PS4 and XB1.

Sync Box
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What makes this a four star is how pricey it is if it were 100$ less it’d be 5/5

Love the idea, poor execution.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I pre-ordered this, it promised to be everything I ever wanted to get out of my hue lights. Well philips clearly released it too soon. Buggy, glitchy connectivity, pita. The sync app it poor also. Over the months they have released updates. And it works pretty much all the time, now. No 4K hdr passthrough when syncing lights. I am disappoint.

Cooke’s thing ever and pricey
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pricey yes. Do you need it no. BUT ITS FREAKING AWESOME! It controls your Hue lights perfectly with video! I love it. Not that hard to hook up. Worth it for every nerd:) like me I did find that the image quality get slightly degraded with the XBOX ONE that is hooked into this device

Great for home theater set up
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is awesome if you have too few ports on your tv. The bonus is that you can connect the hue lighting to it and have an amazing theater experience! It can be a pain to set up but once you get everything set its awesome

Better than expected
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly I debated on getting this for a few months. I ended up getting it as a gift for my partner (justification) and it has surprised us both. It’s very responsive and allows Dolby Digital 5.1 surround to pass through with my Sonos Arc which honesty is the most important part. It really adds to the in home movie theater experience to have the picture jump off the screen onto the walls.
