Not the best system to use with a newer AppleTV but it gets the job done. i wish it would offer support with dolby of HDR but overall satisfied with the product

phillips hue play HDMI sync box comes in different colors we chose the black one to match our decor - we have 2 of them now

Ive waited for this capability for my hue lights for a WHILE.... Makes watching movies and playing games WAY MORE FUN!!! Easy to use, and also so many ways to set it up.... I really enjoy using it, and takes my hue bulbs to the next level....

Very cool lighting system! Wish you didn’t have to buy the items separately as they do become costly but a great idea for an aesthetic tv setup.

With one of the last firmware updates it works perfectly. I love the ability for my lights to sync to what’s on TV. I currently have an AppleTV, Nintendo Switch, and Blueray player connected and for the most part it switches easily between whatever device is powered on and syncs the hue lights in your entertainment group. Very happy

The Philips Hue Sync is a great addition to your home theater setup if you are already invested in the Hue ecosystem. One word to the wise. You CANNOT use the sync function w/ Dolby Vision. So if Dolby Vision is an ABSOLUTE MUST, pass on this. Otherwise, if you are ok with normal 4K, then this is a great buy!

Cool features and enhances viewing experience. Only down side is that you need to connect/bridge all your HDMI's into one input making you have to use the app to change among your HDMI's. A bit annoying and difficult for folks that are not comfortable with this kind of tech.

I’m still working out the kinks with my connections, but I like what the Sync box does. Provides great light syncing to tv and movies, has worked with Apple TV, Dish and movies on a Blu-ray player. It does t sync up every time and my lights will default to their original configuration (off or motion sense), so I’m working on that issue. Pleased with the purchase.

I have been wanting to be able to have my hue lights do this since first got them and now finally I have been counting down the days for this to come out it works so good with the hue play bars.

This is the brain for all the lights to sync with my tv and movies. It allows my wife to turn down the intensity of the lights and it allows me to turn it all the way up. It is pretty awesome to see the sun on one side of the screen and the left side of my room with the right side dark. Action movies are taken to another whole level!

Keep in mind it will only work at 4k-60hz anything 120 and above this box wont work. Learned the hard way.

one of the best purchases i have made in the last 5 years, you will not be disappointed with this one. could be a lil cheaper, but its worth it. checkout different visualizers on youtube to break it in, colors go crazy.

Worth the money! Completely changed our experience watching movies. One of my favorite purchases this year. Takes a little bit to understand the setup. But once you get it working, it is amazing.

Works as expected, no issues. Would buy again and definitely recommend. So much easier to use this and not have to run my gaming consoles or stream videos off my computer to my Apple TV. Lights work seamlessly. I love that this is finally an option.

It was a bit clunky when I bought it at the beginning of the year and was in need of some software updates. Fast forward 6 months later and I have it connected again and I'm just blown with the added experience in watching movies, listening to music, etc. The setup was quite frustrating even though I have set up other Philips Hue devices. However, it's a great experience once it is properly configured. One of the new features introduced with a recent software update was Alexa and Google Home integration for voice commands. I was happy to see this because hated having to open the app on my phone to switch inputs and change settings. You can program an existing remote for certain actions but neither of my remotes has extra buttons that I can dedicate to Philips Hue Sync features.

Does anyone actually need this? Probably not. I debated on it for a while because of the price point but honestly it is the coolest thing! I hate watching tv without it now and it brings the immersion of video games to a whole new level.

Only down fall is how Expensive it is for what you want it to do.

philips really dropped the ball. this sync device when working is amazing but i am constantly having connection or sync issues. when the hdmi switches or i open an app with my apple tv, the lights sometimes lose sync. it’s awesome when working but frustrating when it is being stubborn.

Best upgrade to my TV experience. Although its mildly difficult to set up, once its set it’s awesome. Highly recommend if can get it on sale!

Bought this to for my gaming setup and it works flawlessly. All you have to do is turn on what you want to use and the tv automatically switches to that input.
