The Philips Hue Sync is a great addition to your home theater setup if you are already invested in the Hue ecosystem. One word to the wise. You CANNOT use the sync function w/ Dolby Vision. So if Dolby Vision is an ABSOLUTE MUST, pass on this. Otherwise, if you are ok with normal 4K, then this is a great buy!

one of the best purchases i have made in the last 5 years, you will not be disappointed with this one. could be a lil cheaper, but its worth it. checkout different visualizers on youtube to break it in, colors go crazy.

It was a bit clunky when I bought it at the beginning of the year and was in need of some software updates. Fast forward 6 months later and I have it connected again and I'm just blown with the added experience in watching movies, listening to music, etc. The setup was quite frustrating even though I have set up other Philips Hue devices. However, it's a great experience once it is properly configured. One of the new features introduced with a recent software update was Alexa and Google Home integration for voice commands. I was happy to see this because hated having to open the app on my phone to switch inputs and change settings. You can program an existing remote for certain actions but neither of my remotes has extra buttons that I can dedicate to Philips Hue Sync features.

Does anyone actually need this? Probably not. I debated on it for a while because of the price point but honestly it is the coolest thing! I hate watching tv without it now and it brings the immersion of video games to a whole new level.

I love my Phillips hue sink box it's fantastic it connects your Phillips hue lights to whatever is on your screen it's amazing

Only down fall is how Expensive it is for what you want it to do.

philips really dropped the ball. this sync device when working is amazing but i am constantly having connection or sync issues. when the hdmi switches or i open an app with my apple tv, the lights sometimes lose sync. it’s awesome when working but frustrating when it is being stubborn.

Worth the money! Completely changed our experience watching movies. One of my favorite purchases this year. Takes a little bit to understand the setup. But once you get it working, it is amazing.

I love how this adds to the immersion when watching movies, playing games, or listening to music. It’s pricey, but worth it.

Cool features and enhances viewing experience. Only down side is that you need to connect/bridge all your HDMI's into one input making you have to use the app to change among your HDMI's. A bit annoying and difficult for folks that are not comfortable with this kind of tech.

It’s not HDMI 2.1 so no 120hz. It’s also ridiculously priced. It’s very cool what it allows you to do though. I just wish for the price point they’d update it

When it works, it is great. However, every few minutes it will lose connection for about 20-30 seconds or more and then reconnect itself. It can get annoying when you have your lights are set to go back to “on” when you stop synchronization.

I love the effect, when it's working. It's buggy though, rarely works right with Switch, often have to stop and restart. lack of HDMI 2.1 support is a bummer, not that I can find a PS5 anyway, but lack of future proofing for such an expensive item is unfortunate.

This thing is a game changer. The ability to have your lights adjust to the color of the TV/Movie is pretty cool. You can set all the smart lights in your room - and they will all adjust to the color of the TV.

If you have philips hue smart bulbs or the gradient strip this is a must have displays color accurately from what's on screen to the lights movie watching or TV in general is amazing with the light show

A complete waste of money. Worked for about 4 months and now is just an overpriced HDMI hub. Tried working with Phillips to exchange under warranty last year - they first tried to have me troubleshoot by asking me to take all my phillips system to a friend’s to try their WIFI during the pandemic. (????) With everything going on I didn’t have time to return and we were using our TV so needed the additional HDMI ports. Now I can see you can’t buy it pretty much anywhere except through Phillips…which makes sense because it’s a $300 paperweight.

Upon the connection of the three Lighting systems and this unit made it possible to play any video system I'm personally using the Amazon stick and Hue color bulbs upon connection display a beautiful setting I certainly recommended

Adding a roku device and game systems to this box, really takes Philips Hue lights up a notch. Watching movies isn't the same anymore with the Hue light sync. It makes your home theater that much cooler.

Not the best system to use with a newer AppleTV but it gets the job done. i wish it would offer support with dolby of HDR but overall satisfied with the product
