This item is needed to use the hue play gradient light strip. Wish we didn’t need so many different accessories to make it work. You need this and the hue bridge. Nonetheless, once you have everything up and running, it really enhances the experience watching movies synced to your lights.

Might seem a little pricey but definitely worth it to have. Make sure the lights you have are the multicolored Hues otherwise you won’t be able to get started. But once you do... unbelievable atmospheric cinema

If you have a variety of hue lights this is a must have. The atmosphere it provides is really immersive and fun! Once set up it's automatic (I thought I'd have to use the app each time I wanted to use it).

This in general summarises my thoughts on all Phillips hue products. This is way too expensive since for what it actually gives you. It works well and the quality of the product is great, but who in their right mind thought it should cost this much?

Works great. I connected it to my television and to the lights in my bedroom so when we’re watching movies we can have it match the show that is on at the same time with lighting. Great effect.

This item is fantastic. Having the lights match the color of my game, show, or movie makes the content that much more immersive. My friends have marveled at it when they're over.

Trying to set up my lighting game in the house, particularly the tv area. This is a game changer for viewings. Love Philips Hue products. Just wished it did 60hz rate.

We have all white walls in our TV room. Bathes the whole room in color that mimics the screen. Zones work well too. This thing is very fast to adjust color and it is pretty immersive. I’m impressed.

This has been a great addition to my gaming room, syncing our hue lights to the actions on screen is a new level of immersion and we'll worth the price paid. Really easy to setup as well.

When it comes to higher frames, the device does black out from time to time. I believe it gets overheated or something. If I watch Apple TV for a couple of hours then play my PS5 it will black out the screen for a few seconds. This is all with the Play Gradient Lights synced

Kind of buggy device. Looks cool when it works. ARC is not true ARC. Have to use my app to change HDMI inputs using app, which requires being on same network as HUE Box. Had to use a stupid extender behind my TV because SYNC was to far from my office location, which is a joke. The entire house can reach my Wi-Fi, but this box can’t. Requires rebooting often. Wife wants to kill me most of the time when I’m out of town, when she has to “fix it”.

Still debating whether to keep or return pending call to customer service. This is a very expensive product for it's offerings. Only 4 HDMI devices can be connected. I own a Samsung Q90 QLED, but only those connected through to the HDMI Ports will allow for sync. I no longer use the apps on the TV and run everything through my XBOX One X. The box fails to switch HDMI ports, I had to disable all settings in my xbox that turn on/off TV automatically, and when turning on the TV it does not turn on the Hue Sync Box so I'm unable to navigate to my xbox without first turning on the sync box manually sometimes OR pulling out the app. When trying to get everything working there are times where my TV will just go black for no reason and I have to turn everything on/off....It's quite the hassle to get things to work. There are times where there is a slight lag or delay with the lights syncing to that of which is displayed. WHEN IT DOES WORK, it works well and is quite impressive especially when playing games. I've dialed down the settings when watching video as sometimes it can be distracting. I've tested all of this functionality on a PC before buying this product and eventually bought the product because I was tired of streaming from my PC or connecting my PC to the TV. I'm up in the air of which was more of a hassle just to get the lights to sync to my big TV. I will fight the fight, call customer service, and just hope this is consumer error. Return will also depend on if this will mess with my soundbar set up - have yet to connect. PROS +Eliminate the need for PC or android device for TV Sync effects CONS -Need separate Hue phone App -4 HDMI Inputs -Signals on several fronts get cross wired -Manual steps to get working -Super expensive for what it is -Sometimes shuts off for no reason

Hi Flaco, thank you for your review. We think we can help you with the switching problem of the HDMI inputs as well as the set up with the soundbar. For the soundbar we recommend one of the following set ups: 1) Sources > Sync Box > Receiver/Soundbar > TV. (Arc bypass needs to be disabled) or
      2) Sources > Sync Box > TV > Receiver/Soundbar (Arc bypass needs to be disabled). For the switching problem, we would like to have some more information. Could you send us a message via: Facebook (http://m.me/HuePhilips) or Twitter (https://twitter.com/tweethue)?

Pretty cool idea in concept and it was interesting but didn't feel like it was worth the price. I found it distracting from the movie since you are watching the movie it's hard to notice the lights. Didn't feel like it added much to the cinema experience,

Kind of felt like purchasing a console but the effects it brings to your viewing and gaming is super dope.” I’m old” of course you will need all of the hue lights to make this mamajamma compete . And that can be sort of expensive. If you are serious about your home theater this is the toy to add tho .
