So I only bought the sync box because when I purchased the Phillips Hue Play, I didn’t know that I needed other products to make it work. Well the instructions that come with the sync box only use vague pictures to describe how to connect the sync box with the lights and the bridge. It has 4 HDMI ports and it took a few hours before it finally synced and paired up. This is only a means to use other good products but they make it a bit confusing.

I am a fan of Hue and have most of their products but, this box just do the trick. It is on the high side for what it does but maybe not for me. I wish hue would let you integrate other brand Lights "only" because if you are trying to get a full set up on a 85 inch tv, you have to get 3 sets of lights just cover the back of it. I have a different ambiance kit on Amazon and it was nowhere near the price of this one and it work way better. Maybe I'll get this item down the road but for now is not for me. Already back at the store.

Must buy if you have the Philips Hue gradient light strip. Easy to setup and use.

I like this product but I don’t see why it is needed in first place.But it does aggravate my wife with flashing lights so I really get value for my money.

Works great but I just hate I had to fork out another $200+ to sync my lights.

Love it use it everyday plugged into my ps5 and using my hue lights it is awesome

I really want to like this and use it, but this seems to not work right at all. Setup was very easy, from physical connections to app setup. That's when the problems started. Firstly, I have it connected as Sources -> Receiver -> Sync Box -> TV. The first issue is that after about 5 minutes of being on, my screen will go black, and then I'll get nothing but static on the screen. I have to turn off the box and back on for it to stop, and then it happens again. This occurs no matter what source I use, and happens even if I'm not doing anything with the lights (i.e. just using the Sync Box as passthrough/passive). The other issue is that ARC passthrough does not work. I have it enabled via the app, but when I change the volume on my TV, it doesn't change the volume on my receiver, or vice versa. This works fine without the Sync Box in the connection line. I really want to like this box, and I figured for the price it would work right.

If you want to plug any HDMI 2.1 compatible devices into this thing, be prepared to make some sacrifices. If you've got a setup that prioritizes current-gen gaming or non-streaming movies, it's a no. A masterclass in underutilization. Not using Spotify, then sorry, you can't sync the music to your lights. Streaming in Dolby Vision on a very specific streaming stick, tough luck kid, you're not getting a light show. Want to pass your X-Box Series X or PS5 through this, that's a shame, you just lost support for VRR, 120 Hz refresh, Quick Frame Transport, and Auto Low Latency. This box is sooo darn cool too, I loved this thing when I first got it, but it's done nothing but upset me lately. Being able to have the lights in my room match what's on screen was breathtaking at the start, but it's not anymore. Plugging anything into it now means sacrificing image or sound quality, and I'd rather not do either.

Pretty cool add on. Now we can toggle between different hdmi connections to get the effects. Fire stick, Apple TV, PlayStation.

Movies are so much more fun to watch now that we have the Phillips Hue Play Sync Box (along with some the strip lights and two pack long bulbs). This is truly an innovative product. It is really just like being at the movies at your house (only better!). I wish that this would have been on sale (never seen it on sale); however, I must admit that it was worth every penny for the joy that my family and I derive from movie nights now!

Great addition to the hue setup. It's a bit pricey but well worth it!

Pretty amazing product. With the play lights it makes you feel like your in the movie.
