Love it, when it works
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this in store and lived with it for three days trying to make it work before returning it along with the lights. My experience: three strikes and it was out. First, if you want to use the lights all 4 HDMI inputs, you have to switch them from the app on your phone. There is an auto switch feature that recognizes the active HDMI connection, but that always randomly auto switched to an input I didn't want to use, so I disabled it. Secondly, every time I switched to an HDMI input, the Samsung TV recognized it as a new device and required me to set it up before I could use it. When switching back to my cable set top box (STB), I would have to re-program it and the remote. Now this maybe a Samsung issue; however, all my research found the plugging into the Sync should be the same as plugging into the back of the TV. Third, I really wanted to keep this, so I decided to only use the Sync Box with one input, the STB. After two nights of use, the Sync box started intermittently turning off, which turned off the lights and the TV. This happened consistently 3 times an hour over two nights of use. The box was not hot and fully patched with the latest firmware. I did other troubleshoot to no avail. I look forward to a Gen 2 version of this product. For now, I continue investing in the bulbs.

Wish it had HDMI 2.1
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This would be perfect if it supported HDMI 2.1. It does support Dolby Vision/Atmos, but still could be better with 2.1

Only supports player led Dolby Vision
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This wouldn’t work with my TV because only certain versions of Dolby Vision are supported. This should be disclosed more broadly, I wasn’t able to confirm until I did a bunch of googling and found a support document that listed supported Dolby Vision televisions. This information should be clearly listed on the packaging.

Does not work with my setup
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This might be because it’s older technology from several years ago, but it did not work with my TV setup. I tried everything from Hue support to different online forums to try to get this to work all to no avail. I was really disappointed because I love my Hue lights and figured this would be perfect for watching content and playing video games. Hopefully a newer version will be released soon where all of the kinks will be fixed.

easy setup and works great.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the only negative is that it doesn't support 4 k. But it does work great with 1080p. I hope they have a new model to support 4k greater resolution.

Philip Hue’s play box
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent device. Specially if you have Philips hue’s in your house the light behind the TV is phenomenal thought you would think it would be kinda of annoying, but it just really blends right in.

Too Glitchy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been a Hue user from the beginning and have always waited for a tv sync box like this. I originally had a Philips Ambilight tv and loved how the light would reflect whatever was on the screen. When I first heard they finally developed something I was full in. I purchased this after seeing a abundance of negative reviews and have to say I am disappointed as well. When I first set up the sync box I kept getting a error that I lost connection to the bridge (only a few feet away) and when it would work it would constantly stop and need to re sync again. In general it worked flawlessly about 10% of the time. For what these things cost, that is unacceptable. Listen to the reviews and wait it out until they come out with a second generation or updated version. There are way more reviews on the actual Philips website and most are negative.

Absolute Need!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Seriously a great product. I genuinely don't know how we survived without this thing! Makes every movie or video game better. Sound-only mode turns your spotify playlist into a disco party! Just amazing. Cons: Small input lag when playing video games - No lag noticed with sound just a small (less than a second) delay from the button press to action on screen.
