Syncing to the next level
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Need this if you are going to have the live syncing during gaming or video play, best purchase, people are always blown away by the syncing feature this offers with the hue lights. You’ll need to download the app and sync with the bridge to connect to the lights.

Does what it’s supposed to do
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It does what it’s supposed to do. Just wish Philips Hue made it 2.1 hdmi to support 4K/120hz for next gen consoles. Also wish they added a LAN port to have a wired connection. If your wi-fi is good and you don’t mind 4K/60hz then the hue sync box works fine.

Works well, WOW factor
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works with with Nvidia Shield and 65" TV. Great WOW factor for the living room. Having a Harmony remote makes this easier to control, since my devices do not play nicely with CEC.

Necessary Expense
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a necessary item for TV backlighting. Its a shame that you can't use an on TV app like you can for a computer, the box works well and hasn't caused any down stream problems but I'd prefer not needing it

Love Hue, hate this. Doesn't work with TV apps.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received the light bars for xmas. Was super excited, then learned you need this guy. When I saw the price, I was bummed, but went ahead and got it. Total buyers remorse. Gripes: - You have to use the app on your phone or computer to start/set it up each time. No other way that I know of. Yeah my phone is always near by, but the whole point of Hue is automation once you've got it all set up. - Biggest issue: I don't use a cable box or external device (Firestick, Chromecast, Roku, etc), only my TV's built-in apps. There is no way to connect this without some sort of integration by the TV manufacturer. You may be able to do it with just the sound mode? But that's not worth the price. I've used it maybe 4 or 5 times. Honestly, the whole system is kind of gimmicky, and isn't implemented well at all. I say save your money on this and the light bars, and wait for the next generation or two.

Great Addition to Home Theater Viewing Experience
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the ambiance the sync box provides when watching movies and sports. Can tailor your viewing experience to however many lights you have, depending on the situation (provided you have multiple Phillips smart lights)

Honestly best thing
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok, so I contemplated on buying this as it is not really needed unless you want to step up your Phillip hue light experience. With that being said I’m so glad I bought this and so mad I waited for so long can’t wait for more lights to come in so I can hook them up!

Auto switching issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Doesn’t switch automatically per specification Common issue but difficult to diagnose which component is at fault. And there are no instructions for manual switching. It’s the button in front Use the internet if u have issues. Cable box may not recognize it and may need to be powered cycled

Can't Wait to connect to Gradient Lightstrip!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am anxiously looking forward to getting this completely setup once the Hue Gradient Lightstrips are back in stock. Fantastic
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This makes more of a difference than one would expect. The customization options for the transitions are very nice. The ambiance this creates on a large wall behind a large wall mounted TV is excellent.

Not working properly with 4K HDR
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works with 1080p fine but everything I have is HDR. Wish their was an ARC sync feature to use native apps running through Roku and ps4. Would also like a sync to music on my phone or Sonos directly. Setup was a little of a pain, I had to reset the box 3-4 times to get it working properly. This is from a IT professional.

Pricey but worth it.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its pricey, and I know during these times it sucks. But if you want to change how you experience gaming and watching movies, this is the ultimate way to do it. It's fun and having the colors match your tv really helps change the experience .

Does not support dolby vision pass through
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tried for about 1 hour to get it right. When I enable Dolby Atmos on the input device (apple tv 4k), the color sync goes crazy. After about 2 to 3 minutes the screen goes white and then black. Can still hear device sounds. Once I power cycle the Hue Sync box, then video comes back. After a few more minutes, it does the same thing. So to fix this, on my receiver, I enabled the 2nd hdmi out and plugged into hdmi 1 on the Hue. I did not plug anything in the TV out on the hue sync box. Ever since, everything works perfect. Dolby Vision is gorgeous. Minor setback for my setup, but could have been a return if I did not have a secondary output to input as an option. Hue (Philips) needs to get this correct before 8k comes out!

Posted .Hi there, thank you for your review. It is correct that the HDMI sync box only support Dolby Vision and Atmos as a pass through. But we are very happy to hear that you can enjoy Dolby and the HDMI Sync box at the same time with an adjustment to the setup.
