    DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

HDR doesn’t pass through there are a ton of problems. PLEASE look into it before buying. I tried all the work arounds. It is a failed unit and Phillips knows it and won’t fix the issues. Trust me I have spent hours working with it and have returned 3 of them all the same issue. If they would fix this problem it would be five stars. But when I can’t watch a HDR movie or play HDR games with it on I call it a waste. 7.2.4 Current system: Sony 77” OLED A9G, Denon X8500H, ROG Laptop, Panasonic 820 UHD player, XBone S, PS4 Pro, SVS Ultra Center, Prime Pinnacle’s Towers, Ultra Surrounds, Prime Elevations, 2 PC4000,Panamax 5300, Brickwall Surge, AQ Cinnamon HDMI’s, Monoprice 12/2 Speaker wire, 3 dedicated 20amp outlets, Hue LED lighting via Hue HDMI sync.Room is 20x25x20.Will be adding mini 2x4HD another PC4000 giving me a 7.3.4 and GIK room treatment plus ATI AT543NC and AT528NC.

    Giving up after a month

Never did get it to work. It can’t find my entertainment areas, and won’t recognize newly created ones. Seems to be a known issue for quite some time, but after talking to support, it also seems that there’s no known cause, or solution for said issue. Fortunately my gradient play strip will sync with my pc’s onboard hue sync software, so I won’t need the box for pc games, but since the box is required to sync with other devices, I’m pretty much out of luck syncing game consoles and such. Absolutely cannot recommend wasting money gambling on a device that simply won’t work for a percentage of people, with no solution, and no way of knowing if you’ll be one of the unlucky ones.

Loved the concept and the lights did sync. Problem is that the box must have slow processor. After about 5 min the voices get so far out of sync with the video. Can be watching tv and video will be on next scene or commercial and the sound is 10 sec behind. Reset and back in sync but falls behind. Returned it. Wait for version 2. Or usually unless love Kung fu movies.

Hi there, we're sorry to hear you decided to return your Sync Box; we would have loved to investigate this issue. The Sync Box should cause no delay in video or sound at all.

Do not buy if you have an Xbox Series x. It will not pass HDR through it or 4K 120 VRR. It also will not pass atmos to a Sonos Arc. At this price it should have had HDMI 2.1 ports. It would be fine if it could flow as such Xbox->TV->Sonos Arc. But it is not configurable in such a way.

Hi there, thank you for your review. Due to the the backwards compatibility of HDMI, the sync box is compatible with the Xbox Series X, but there will be full support up to the max that HDMI 2.0 can take, i.e. up to 4K 60Hz HDR/HDR+/DolbyVision 4:2:2 or 4K 60Hz SDR 4:4:4.

It should be possible to use a soundbar in your set up as well. Please reach out to our support teams on Facebook https://m.me/HuePhilips or Twitter https://twitter.com/tweethue so that they can assist you with this.

This thing is trash. If you are a gamer good luck at getting this to work. I have a Hisense U8K tv and a Xbox and it will not recognize it. It will turn on like it is synced, but will not work. I have swapped to 60 hz and lowered the resolution and it will still not work. Do not buy this if you have hopes of using it while gaming.

NOT IMPRESSED! Do not recommend if you are a gamer. A lot of TVs have the game setting mode that really jacks up the output, it is unusable on any tv I have. Only works with non-Game mode inputs. This may be good for some, but if you bought this to enhance gaming, hard pass. VERY disappointed.

Excellent in terms of synchronization speed, it has 4 hdmi ports, the bad thing and for which I give it 2 stars is that if it is not connected through the box you cannot synchronize, everything has to go through the box and that is inconvenient

Out of the box this does not work. The app is not connecting on iOS devices. When I contacted support they just said they are aware and it will be prioritized when there are enough users reporting the issue. So you’ll end up with $200 piece of junk.
