Close swing, but a miss!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was excited to experience the switch but the hdmi process didn't work as expected! I wasn't able to override the switch to turn off when watching regular tv which made that experience very distracting. Hopefully they will make some adjustments in the future to make it more user friendly.

Returned Due to Audio Issues
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ultimately returned the product since it had some issues with passing through audio and making it cut out a fair bit. If that issue was resolved it seems like a pretty cool and fun item to have, but definitely a luxury item that's a bit pricey for what it does.

Samsung One Connect users MUST READ
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I cannot hook up through Samsung One Connect, without giving up the capability of selecting which devices to use without Sync, aside from the app ... so I haven't had the opportunity to see it's potential. I don't want to have to run my TV HDMI "sources" through the Hue Sync App! I wish Hue would find a fix for this, as I have been on many sites, that others have the same issue, without a possible solution. Aside from buying another TV (with HDMI ports), I cannot use Sync for it's intended purpose, in the preferred room.

Posted .Hi there, thanks for your review. The Hue Sync box should work with the One Connect without any issues. Did you connect the Hue Sync box between the HDMI devices and the One Connect box? Or the Hue Sync box after the One Connect box? The first option should be the right setup. Please contact us on social media for further troubleshooting. You can reach out to us on Facebook or Twitter at Facebook.com/huephilips or Twitter.com/tweethue This is where we offer 24/7 support!

Oof - What a letdown.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited to get this product. It may be the recent update, but the lag is unbearable and there are issues with HDR inputs. I should have researched more, I hope this helps someone.

For the price not worth it.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the hue sync to work with ps5, series x and LG CX. The app would stop syncing or the led strip would just stay frozen on one color. Using the sync box limits next gen consoles output which really takes away from the hdmi 2.1. You can spend a fraction of the cost and get the same features this hue sync and gradient led has to offer. For the 3 minutes it did stay synced it was ok but the downgrade on graphics and static led color, i can just go with a cheap rgb led strip and still utilize hdmi 2.1.

Does not work
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is trash. If you are a gamer good luck at getting this to work. I have a Hisense U8K tv and a Xbox and it will not recognize it. It will turn on like it is synced, but will not work. I have swapped to 60 hz and lowered the resolution and it will still not work. Do not buy this if you have hopes of using it while gaming.

Incredibly Disappointing ... 'NOT IN SYNC'
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it has now been 5 weeks. I've used the device maybe 4 times after struggling for days to get it to work. Now it won't turn on at all. I used live chat to initiate an exchange (for the same item) and was told I only had 15 days to do that. That is an absolutely ridiculous policy. The live chat agent told me to visit a Best Buy store and ask them to make an exception. Exceptions are not an option online, only in person. Which is also a ridiculous policy. The four times I did get it to work, it's pretty much 'perfect', but after spending $250, I would expect Best Buy to gladly exchange it for another of the same item. I'm not asking for my money back.

The Hue!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Phillips Hue is the standard but this just doesn't cut it. No 4K pass through for PS4 Pro. Otherwise it does work and does what it's supposed to do! Only gave it a 2 star for that reason. It's just an HDMI hub.

Posted .Hi VinDaddy, thank you for writing the review. We support HMDI 2.0b, with HDCP 2.2. and resolution up to 4k 60Hz HDR10. Does it work with your PS4 pro if you adjust your resolution to a slightly lower resolution? If not, we would love to be able to see if we can help you on our social media channels.

Wifi connection is hell
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been the most frustrating week in a while. The Wi-Fi connection for setup makes this unusable. Great concept, but not future ready.

works ok, but not worth $$
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have this set up with tv in office for TV and gaming using 2 Hue LED Bars behind the tv. It works, but not really all that impressed its ability to match the colors on the screen. Depending on the game or movie, it can be distracting. not worth the $$ at all.

HDMI Signal cutting out
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a receiver setup, where all my inputs go through the stereo and out to the TV. I kept having the signal go to "snow" randomly. One way I could fix it would be to change the input on the receiver and change it back, effectively resetting it. The only thing that keeps the "snow" from coming back is to remove this from the chain. It never happens when I wire directly to the TV from the receiver, only when the sync box is in the mix. I replaced all the HDMI cables trying to resolve this. It's done it pretty much since new. If you'll google it, you'll see I'm not alone. This was a very expensive mistake

A lot of money for little reward
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s easy if you don’t have a surround sound. But if you have top of the line equipment this restricts your capability . 4K Cable box, Apple TV, PlayStation , Logitech remotes, 4 K receiver, sling box and no sound from 1/2 of them using the sync box.

Sync Box + Hue Ecosystem not worth the trouble
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I so badly want to be happy with this purchase but everything about it has been frustrating. My devices passing HDR signals through it constantly have screen flickering issues. It often loses sync (probably due to minor issues with my internet) and needs to be restarted to get the lights working again. Good luck if you actually want to get the gradient light strip designed to work with it, they are constantly sold out and Hue's direct customer service is less than abysmal. I was so excited to jump into this ecosystem, now I'm just looking for ways to extract myself without taking too much of a loss on these overpriced products.

If you have a Home Theater or Soundbar, forget it.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have a home theater/receiver/soundbar in your setup, just forget about using the Philips box. It introduces a lip sync issues, sync issues with the lights, it's a distracting disaster. On top of that, you lose access to built in TV apps, and the lights do not sync with Dolby Vision content (which is just about everything being released now). No way this product was ready for prime time. And at the price point, does not warrant waiting for Philips to sort out these issues.
No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from The Philips Lighting Team
Posted .Hi there, Smart TV apps run directly on the TV. The content will need to pass through the Sync Box so it can analyze the content and send the right commands to your lights. You should still have access to the apps, but you won't be able to sync your lights if you use them.
Please reach out to us on Facebook http://m.me/HuePhilips or Twitter https://twitter.com/tweethue if the Sync Box really does cause you to lose access to your apps, or if you have any other questions. We're always happy to assist!

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy this if you have a 4K TV with dolby vision (eg, LG) and use Apple TV or Nvidia shield. Constantly disconnects and you have to reboot the device.
