Nonstop technical issues, can’t maintain signal
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of my biggest disappointments of the last few years when it comes to tech. The sync box constantly drops both audio and video signals to the point where I am restarting every single device and replacing every single HDMI to try and figure out why this box can’t maintain a connection. Works sometimes, and when it does it works well.

Not worth the money
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.love the idea... if it worked. Had problems from the getgo. To connect it, to get it working with the lights, and to keep it working. It's just a poor product.

Posted .Hi Mike, we're sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with the sync box. It's always good to check your device is connected to the 2.4GHz network as that is the only the sync box uses. If you still experience issues with the connection or syncing your lights, our support teams will be happy to assist if you reach out to them on Facebook https://m.me/HuePhilips or Twitter https://twitter.com/tweethue.

Can not connect
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the idea of the sync box. When it works, it’s awesome! Unfortunately, that only lasted a week for me. Like others stated, it has major problems connecting with the app. I tried resetting it multiple times and factory reset it as well. No luck. Others heeded the same result, however, I figured I’m pretty tech savvy, I can probably figure it out. Nope! It’s faulty. Again, love the idea and when it works it’s awesome. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work.

Not worth the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was great until it stated to cut out and black out. It’s not reliable and video drops. When it works it’s great but it’s annoying to have the video drop.

Horrible app
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The whole purpose for me getting these lights is to sync with my TV. This box was the only way for them wo work as intended. The box is about $300 & the accompanying app is pure garbage. It constantly loses connection to the box & routinely takes 15 minutes to reconnect. I was able to get around it by setting up a spare universal remote with it but for the price point, I shouldn't have to

Expensive box that limits smart tv
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The system wasn’t that easy to set up. Ince set up, you are required to use the sync app to change what input to use and the apps on the smart tv do not work with sync.

Posted .Hi there, thanks for your review. The Hue Sync box should be able to automatically detect the HMDI input. Build in TV apps don't work because the content needs to pass through the Hue Sync box via a HDMI device. We can help you if you message us on Facebook (http://m.me/HuePhilips) or Twitter (https://twitter.com/tweethue) This is where we offer 24/7 support.

Maybe Later
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hue Play Sync offers something could make your entertainment area really amazing. However, it would not work. I spent hours trying different configurations, setting it up, resetting, and trying again. I should have googled more prior to the purchase as there are known issues with the supplied HDMI cable and possibly your current ones.

Posted .Hi there, thank you for your review. There shouldn't be any issued with the supplied HDMI cable, but it's very important that the other HDMI cables you use are Premium HDMI certified. These cables will have the holographic logo on the packaging indicating the certification. For more information, please see https://www.hdmi.org/spec/premiumcable.
If you are still experiencing issues afterwards, you can always send a message to our support teams on Facebook https://m.me/HuePhilips or Twitter https://twitter.com/tweethue.

Could not handle Xbox One
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Kept shutting off video feed and lights, seems to have been overwhelmed by 4K HDR. Had latest update before using. I don't know if I got a bad unit or it's just still not ready for prime time. Also, just in case it's not clear from other sources, sync box has to be powered on to pass any sort of video. Seemed problematic to have to keep turning sync box on and off separately, however, it integrated nicely with Harmony remote system.

Great idea, poorly executed
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The integration to my tv and surround sound setup with 4 components was doable but complicated. On top of that the light syncing doesn’t just happen, you have to turn it on and off. Which means I need to install it on a tablet or both my girlfriend and I’s phones. Some updates or second gen offering may make this a must have. But it is not there yet.
No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from The Philips Lighting Team
Posted .Thanks for your feedback. We've given the option to turn the light sync on and off manually, because we understand that not every situation requires a flashy light show, for instance when you're just catching up with the news.
Once you've installed your Sync Box on one phone, you don't then need to do the full install again on subsequent phones/tablets: follow the installation steps, but when it asks if the LED is blinking blue, say no and pick "solid white". You then will be asked to press the button on the Sync Box, and after that you'll be up and running on that device.
If you have any other questions about using your Sync Box, we're happy to answer them, you can find us on Facebook (http://m.me/HuePhilips) or Twitter (https://twitter.com/tweethue).
