    Basically, this is dead box to us until it supports our DolbyVision 4K television. And what happens when your SmartTV doesn’t need HDMI to render video? Our SmartTV connects to the Internet directly and doesn’t need an external HDMI box to pull video content. Pass on this Hue money grab — it’s the “HD DVD” too little too late tech of 2020.

You will now be able to sync your Hue lights with this format, before it was only possible to pass through the content.     I had issues getting the hue sync to work. When ever connected it would turn all of my lights white. It would not work with any setting on my TV nor did it help coordinating my hue play with my hue bulbs. I was not satisfied with this product but love my phillips hue lights and believe that that purpose of the hue sync can be done with an app versus a $230 box that doesn't work.

    Not as I expected or as user friendly. Doesn’t like all movies. Just don’t think the technology is there yet from Phillips

    Why would Philips release a product that will not work ? for $200.00 bucks come on, I have a high speed gaming system & it would not connect, come on now, I took it back the next day and thank's for the two trips to best buy burning my gas also for the cost of the lights that I can't use that I paid for to use with that paper weight. P.S. One more thing I couldn't even give this product a '0' .

    I recently tried the Hue play sync box out. It didn’t really add anything to my viewing experience, but did add an unnecessary step of turning it on via the phone app to get to whatever TV input I was trying to access. I returned it to Best Buy about 10 days later. Hopefully this tech will improve because the idea is great on paper but it's just not quite there in the follow-thru yet.

    1.3.2 firmware from 4K to 1080p

    i am using this on my AVR so i can take advantage of Dolby Vision. at few months im enjoying it but then right after the 1.3.2 firmware update, now my ARC HDMI on receiver giving me 1080p. as soon as i disconnect my 2nd monitor (Hue synch) it will go back to 4K. this was already acknowledge by Philips team but for god sake its been over a month now and we need a new firmware!

    It should be called the no sync box. Took 2 hours to sync but that didn't last long as it would just not work properly. Also its hdmi 2.0 so no 120htz. And good luck trying to swap signals through its hdmi. Horrible product returning it tomorrow.

    Works about 25% of the time. Otherwise it messes up the codec between your 4k device and your TV and takes a full reboot of everything to get it cleaned up.

    returned this item due to the whole process of connecting lights to a tv. having to download apps then the app telling me i needed to but another item to get it working when i had already spent $500+

    had app. for Geek Squad to install. Had to make app. 3 weeks out. My wife had to change her plans to be home. They were to be there between 9 and 1pm. She called them around 4pm and was told the app. Was canceled...... returned everything. PS they saved me around 650.00 for returning everything.

    Wont work for smart tv videos!

    Best buy will tell you otherwise, but you can not use this only connected to a smart tv! The smart aspect of the tv is useless for this! You have to have something connected to this to then send to the tv, such as a firestick, playstation or Xbox.

    do not waste your money on Philips Hue Sync Box. Our Hue lights are great, work fine, but the Sync box is terrible, both that I have owned. Most owners have been frustrated with this faulty product, many many many have been returned so few actually work as advertised and only temporarily. Be warned.
