Title of the review is pretty much all there is to say. Blooms were good for ambient lighting, but had a limited color spectrum and were annoyingly white with a white cord. This is much brighter, has better color output, offers more mounting possibilities, and is a easier to hid because it's black. The expansion option to add 3 of these per power supply is a great touch as well. For the extra $10, I see very little reason to buy a Bloom over a Play. I do wish the two included mounting plates were combined into a single that used some sort of ball bearing for rotation, but other than that I have zero complaints.

I already have multiple Hue color/white ambience bulbs and light strips scattered around my apartment, and was looking for a solution to put behind my computer monitor to act as a bias light. As with all of my other Hue products, this does not disappoint! The light bar definitely gets bright enough when I need it to, and I can of course change color temperature depending on what I'm working on. Easy to mount with the included hardware. Love it!

I purchased this to go behind my computer monitor. I really do like it. It syncs well with the Hue App on the computer. I also bought some for behind my TV, but just be aware, you will not be able to sync the lights with your TV unless you go through a computer. I still like them though.

Good lighting but very misleading because i have to buy a Hue bridge for an extra $60-$70 plus tax just to change the color.

I took my son to the store to buy this. He didn’t know that you MUST BUY THE HUE BRIDGE ALSO. He is bummed. Me too because I have to drive him back there to return it.

It’s my birthday and completely ruined by the fact this needed something called HUE BRIDGE. Returning. So inconvenient and saddened.
