It trims fine but the reason I went with this particular one on Best Buy is because in the description it says it comes with a travel pouch. It does not. I feel Best Buy or Philips owes me a travel pouch. Seems trivial, but it was the decided factor why I went with this one over Wahl. This unit has many different attachments that are sure to get lost. You'd be better off just buying one unit to do what you want it to do.
