I was pleasantly surprised with this Philips Norelco shaver. It is super quiet, can be used wet or dry, gives a decent shave and the battery life is amazing. On a single charge I shaved 10 times and the battery was only about half discharged. It doesn't shave as close as a blade, but this is a great everyday shaver.

This electric razor is one of the best electric razors around. In my opinion it works much better than the foil type shavers and is able to get all the whiskers that spread out in different directions and across the hard to reach curves on your face. I think the rotating blades and pivoting heads are a great design. There is not a lot to judge a razor by other than how well it works and this one works great. It cuts well, doesn't leave your skin irritated, holds a very long charge, can wet shave, is easy to empty, and feels sturdy and well built. Not much else to say. I would recommend this razor.

I have tried a number of electric shavers in the past with mixed results. The issue that I run into is that I hate razor stubble and the ones I have tried in the past did not shave close enough for my liking. After using this razor for the past couple week, I am very pleased with the results. I now have a shave with an electric that is pretty close to a bladed manual razor. The bonuses are I don't cut myself shaving and I can use it in the shower. It is pretty straight forward as electric shavers go. It does have a pop up trimmer for taking care of sideburns and around ears, etc. There is a display panel that keeps you informed of the battery charge. For the record, I charge it once in two weeks and only lost one bar out of three. I'm please with the shaver and will be using it for the foreseeable future.

This is a very nice but no frills wet/dry shaver. Based on the price, one would not expect it to have a ton of features and this does not. However, that is not necessarily a bad thing. If you're looking for a basic but high quality shaver, I don't think you would go wrong buying this. The ability to rinse it under the sink (and use in the shower) is a plus. You can't compare this to a $200 electric shaver, but for under $100, this is a satisfying product.

A quiet, efficient shave with this shaver. Gives a close shave with minimal pressure. The heads follow the contours of my face well and they shave close, leaving minimal stubble. For the price, a good value.

I am very happy with this shaver. I asked for (and got) a different (newer) style Norelco for Christmas, but I didn't like it and returned it. I didn't like the more squared corners on the head that tended to hook my nostrils when shaving my mustache area, and I really didn't like that I had to turn it off and change heads to do any trimming. What a pain. This shaver is more old school. Very nice shave, no weird square corners and trimming my sideburns and eyelashes with the flick of the finger. I would recommend if you liked what you had before.

The Philips Norelco Shaver 3500 is a great electric shaver that can be used as a wet and/or dry shaver. I have never really been a standard blade + shaving cream kind of guy and have pretty much solely used electric shavers. This new Norelco Shaver 3500 is one of the best I have ever used, and this really means a lot considering I pretty much only use electric shavers. I usually shave dry which this unit does exceptionally well, but I must admit I really like the way it feels when using this for a wet shave and I have begun shaving wet more often now because of it. If you don’t want to take the time for a wet shave, you still can’t go wrong with this shaver. I have relatively sensitive skin and have had problems in the past when switching to a new shaver but so far, my skin has adjusted easily to this new shaver without any problems. The pop-up trimmer really comes in handy and makes it easy to trim and maintain my mustache, sideburns, and goatee. Unfortunately, the trimmer doesn’t come with an additional attachment to change the length of the trim and it trims the hair very short so be careful not to cut more than desired. Overall, the Philips Norelco Shaver 3500 is a great all-around shaver and I highly recommend it!

    My New Go-To Shaver

I've been using a foil electric for awhile. It does the job for a day's worth of stubble, but then I always go back to a razor for heavier days. I tested the 3500 by giving myself some extra days to grow and I was amazed by the job it did: a really smooth and comfortable shave. ...And quiet to boot!

I've still got an 8151xl that's over 10 years old that still works fine. I have replaced the blades once, but I think that's only because I either broke or lost a piece cleaning the blades. It's a wet/dry shaver just like this new version is and I've never had any issues with it. I will say that I do not shave on a daily basis (far from it), so that may have helped to prolong its lifespan, but never the less, it still works fine over 10 years later. I got this new one as a gift and have been using it for a a week or so and it feels just as well made as my old one and seems to operate just as good. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I wish the trimmer blades were a little sharper like clipper blades so it would be a little more versatile. It still does fine for cleaning up the hair line around the ears and some beard trimming, but it would be better for beard shaping or cleaning up if it was a little sharper. Still it's a 4.8 star product.

Normally using a product like this leaves my face feeling like it has a thousand paper cuts. Somehow, that is not the case with this product. I've used it both dry and wet, and my face comes out feeling better than if I hit it with one of the top of the line razors. I used the 'clipper' on the back to knock down my beard and then hit it with the front razors, and it cleaned well, even under my nose. I love the fact that I can open this thing up and clean it immediately after use in the sink or shower. No need for a separate brush to clean things out, and I didn't feel like there were places the water couldn't reach. Charge time was exactly one hour as the directions state. The travel case is what it is, a zippable pouch, but do you really need more?

I'll have to say that I have had many electric razors in my years and I was not expecting much from this series razor. I could not have been more wrong - it has given me as close a shave as any of my previous razors - some of which were three times as much as this one. I waited to do this review for a few weeks to allow my face to adapt to this razor as all of them seem to take a week or two for the "full effect". I have tried this both wet and dry and it gives a nice clean shave even around the neck / adams apple difficult area. All in all - very pleased and I recommend!

Really like this shaver and recommend. Nicely weighted/size and fit my hand nicely. Charges quickly and after 30 minutes use it still shows almost full charge. Flex heads work really well and are very easy to clean. Includes a travel pouch. Took me a little time determine beast way to shave around mouth but have it down now. Wet worked best for me as dry shaving left me with some razer burn on my neck, which hasn’t been a problem in the past – but could just be me. I am clean shaven so cant speak to how it is to navigate around mustache or goatee. No negatives but it is meant to be used cordless - unplugged from charger.. Overall very happy with the shaver and look forward to using.

So Domestic partner did a side by side comparison with his 9 year old Panasonic shaver. Even timed to make sure each side was given the same treatment. And, they felt the same- a little bit of stubble. However the Philips is nice and quiet and seems to be well made. Neither one got as smooth as a manual razor, but the ease balances that out. No shaving cream, can use it anywhere, no water. He is now using both electric and manual to save time and water and get the very close shave. What we came up with is...electric shavers are good and make great expensive gifts. But...think twice before getting one for a guy that wants a perfect perfect shave.

The Phillips Shaver 3500 works great. I love that it can be used wet or dry. The included trimmer is great for straight lines, especially on your neck or your sideburns. The battery lasts for 60 minutes. I took it for a 5-day work trip, and did not need to charge it. The blades pivot in every direction, helping to ensure you get a good shave. This is a great upgrade from my old shaver!

    Weird but Good..

I am 65 and fortunately ( or unfortunately) I do not have a strong and dense facial hair. This shaver is ok but it feels weird due to very slow RPM turn of the blades. It constantly sounds like it is about to have a dead battery even though all 100% charged lights are on and RPM is steady... That weak feeling is the reason I gave 4 stars. Otherwise I do not have any complaints from the results I get. Except due to slow RPM of the blades sometimes it takes a little longer to shave a specific area on your face and you have to go over more times than my old electric shaver...
