Very disappointed in the cutting ability of this shaver. It cuts more like a $20 bargain bin unit then something that normally goes for four times that. Go look for the Aquatec and pass on this unit.

I have used Norelco shavers for over 25 years and this one is the poorest of all the ones I have used. Shave is not close and pulling of hair not good. This was an inexpensive shaver on sale, can not recommend.

I never changed the blade head on it. Instead of changing the blade on it I bought this one thinking it works better because its a newer model. But the blades looks dull and I feel my old one works better than this.

Called Philips for replacement parts and was told that the plastic parts are not covered by the warranty. They will send the replacement part as one-time courtesy but in the future I would have to pay for all the replacements. They design a totally unreliable product which is advertised as having a 24 month warranty. It turns out the warranty will not cover any of teh moving parts in the head. Will avoid this brand in the future. Will buy from brands that truly care about their customers and stand behind their products.

I've always been on the lookout for an electric shaver that could do as good of a job as a regular razor, and this one *almost* gets there. The contouring head is great for moving it across my scalp, but it just doesn't cut close enough to make it completely bald. I'm not sure what the difference is between my scalp and my face, because the shave is close and perfect when I trim the parts of my face around my beard. The trimming attachment is very easy to install and works well. I also noticed no difference using it dry or using it in the shower; it works just as good wet as it does dry. This is a good shaver, but I just wouldn't recommend it for shaving your head. The search for my shaving white whale continues...

I had several days growth of stubble on my face.the unit could barley make dent into it. Wet or dry. Finally just gave up a used my old blade razor with my shave gel and off it came.

Loose Head

This is my far the worst designed shaver they have ever made. You will spent time being aggravated as the head will continually pop off the shaver. In my case, at least 10-12 times a shave. I purchased the Philips Norelco - Rechargeable Wet/Dry Electric Shaver - Red. This is the prior design which I find much better than the new design and they are much less expensive, half the cost...save yourself some time, money, and aggravation...

The head certainly should not be popping off during use, let alone that many times. We suggest making sure that the shaving head unit is inserted correctly in the device. To do this, please remove the shaving heads that are currently on the Shaver after turning the device off. You can then try placing them in the holder again, placing the retaining rings back onto the shaving heads and turning them clockwise to reattach the retaining ring. Each retaining ring has two recesses that fit exactly into the projections of the shaving head holder. Turn the ring clockwise until your hear a click to indicate that the ring is fixed. Then, insert the hinge of the shaving head holder into the slot in the top of the shaving unit and close the shaving unit.
If the head still continues to pop off during use even after making sure that everything is fitted correctly, we encourage you to get in touch via social media. Amazing Shaver

Because of that, I can only compare this shaver to razors. All I can say is that I have been missing out by not using an electric shaver. The Phillips Norelco shaver is honestly a game changer, and has even made shaving somewhat enjoyable. While razors can advertise their numerous blades to get a close shave, this shaver can achieve 99% of that. What I really like about this shaver is how easy it is to use. The manual says to give this shaver 21 days to fully get used to it and enjoy it to it's full potential. However, it only took a few days for me before I saw no need to touch another razor again. Another benefit I saw is that I've been dry shaving with this shaver and it has really saved me the hassle of using shaving cream. Something that could be improved with this shaver is that I noticed that I have to make multiple rounds in order to completely shave my facial hair. It was rare that I could do a single pass and have the look I wanted. I assume that this is something I have to work on and would grow in skill as I use this more and more. What would really complete the package would be a stand and wireless charging, but that would probably increase the price past what it already is. Overall, if you are hesitant like I was about electric shavers, don't be. It's a little scary at first, but you'll immediately see how much better it is than even the best razors.

I had to shave the same spot multiple times to get a clean shave since it wouldn’t get all the hairs, by multiple times I mean close to 7-8 times and we are talking about a mild 5 o’clock shadow. I used this one on one side of my face and my Braun 5S on the other and the difference was extremely obvious. Maybe my facial hair is too thick, but now I know Braun can deliver the results I want without making me waste time.
