Gets better with use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My husband wanted to replace his old Remington shaver so this was a great opportunity, this review is based on his use of it for 5 days. He said that it gives a close shave & with each use it gets closer, no irritation, holds a charge & charges in an hour. You can give it a quick rinse but needs a more thorough cleaning after a few uses. Included is a trimmer attachment which snaps on. There aren’t any other attachments or storage bag included. This works wet or dry so you can lather up if you choose. He said it’s great for a quick shave but a blade is still closer.

poor trimmer

If i had paid more i would have been very dissappointed. It takes forever to shave your face with this. Dull blades. Would not purchase again.

BESTBUYSUCKS

They cut Ok for about a week- after that you'd do better with a butter knife. Going to try a Braun next time.

Better Norelco Models are Out There

Gone downhill

Regarding the travel case, this model indeed only comes with a protection cap. This is mainly due to the travel function that is built into the device, which allows you to lock the shaver when you are going to travel. Thus, we recommend storing the cord and other accessories in a safe location where they will not be damaged. To ensure the best quality shave, we recommend pre-trimming your facial hair if it is longer, and being as gentle as possible. If you prefer to shave using foam or shaving gel, we suggest always washing your face with water and soap before you start shaving. You can then apply your favorite shaving gel or foam to the skin and start shaving by moving the device in circular movements over your skin. For dry shaving, we once again recommend always washing your face with some water and soap first, and drying it properly. Please allow at least 15 minutes for your skin to dry completely before you start shaving. Then, move the shaver on your skin in circular movements once again. This circular movement is important, as it ensures that all hair growing in different directions is removed from your skin. We hope these tips are helpful.

Works well wet, meant for dry shave
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from exclusively using a razor, I didn't know what to expect with an electric razor. I occasionally use hair clippers on zero setting and it works to get the disheveled look under control while leaving uniform stubble behind. I wanted to have the convenience of the non lathered shave so I could better work it into my weekly grooming routine. I fully shave only on the weekends so come Thursday, it's quite noticeable. The Norelco 5300 being my first dedicated wet/dry shaver, surprised me in that there was no tugging or pinching and how amazingly close of a shave I was able to get. If not for the sporadic remnant hairs, you wouldn't be able to tell I used an electric shaver. Using it both wet and dry produced the same level of uncut hair in many different spots on my face. If I had to assign a number, I would say it cuts about 98% of facial hair dry and about 96% wet. And because the blade surface areas are 3 round locations, it's difficult to get at those uncut hairs because you don't know which pass and in which direction it will cut. I have to finish my shave with the back blade of my razor to get a complete shave. But because it saves me time from a full on wet shave, I can use it during the week before work and look well shaved rather than the clipper's 5 o'clock shadow. So for convenience, I would recommend it.

Poor quality

Simple to use. Easy to clean

I sometimes go a few days between shaving and I have experienced a little pulling with other razors. I haven't experienced that with this one. I was able to get a close shave and have not had to charge it very often. I love the fact that the top flips open to clean out. The trimmer attachment is also a great addition.
