Blades dull after 4 months!
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I invested in this razor for my husband and after 4 months the blades need replacing. Phillips Norelco Website recommends every 2 years! He has reverted to our son's first ($25) razor from 3 years ago since it works better.

A very nice upgrade from older Philips shaver...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an upgrade purchase from a year-old Norelco 5000 series shaver, and the improvement is very noticeable! Ths 6900 model gives a much smoother shave. Other extras are the charging base, which you can use if you like or alternatively plug the cord directly into the shaver if you do not want to use the base. This model has the beard trimmer, where the older model had the moustache/sideburn trimmer. Fortunately, the sideburn trimmer pops right on the new model, so I can continue using that when needed. Cleaning after each shave is simple, as the top of the shaving head pops off without any problem and can be rinsed out easily. For those that prefer a wet shave, the 6900 can go wet or dry. I have found a dry shave is close and smooth enough to go without needing foam or gel. Those with more sensitive skin may want to use a gel. I like the 3 floating heads in the Philips design, having tried several types of electric razors over the years before settling on this type of shaving head. The older model will still be used, as it goes to a drawer at work to get a quick touch-up if needed when going to a late meeting. Overall, this model seems to be at the top of the mid-range models on the market. There are certainly models of all types with a lower price, but since this is something that gets used every day, and needs to work well, I didn't mind spending "up" to the mid-range level of performance. I looked at the next-level Phillips (and other) shavers, but they seemed to have extra features that I really didn't need. This 6900 gives a smooth shave, is easy to keep clean, and will run wet or dry as needed. That's about all I need from an electric shaver.

Good shaver/detailer if you are doing simple cuts
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quality from top to bottom, nice carrying case and attachments. The guard also has a multi-position adjustment which certainly adds to the usability in that regard. Having said that, it isn't all that great at getting into tight spaces and doing finer detail edging and the like. Not a deal breaker as I have other shavers to do such things, but...if that's what you're looking for and only want to use a single device -- this likely isn't going to be for you. Charges quick, holds a charge very well, too. The carrying bad is a nice touch and has firmer walls which were nice when traveling as I knew it wasn't going to get broken while in my luggage (I've had this happen in the past with other shavers). The blades are also quite sharp, but considering how quickly BB likes these reviews to be submitted I haven't been able to give it more than a dozen uses (~2 weeks worth) so I don't know how well they will hold up with daily usage over 4, 5, 6+ months. 6 months (again, from previous experience) tends to be where these sort of shavers start dulling. All that aside, a quality piece that I would definitely recommend. Only losing points that if you need ONE device to handle all your shaving needs, this might miss out in the nooks/crannies department.

The worst shaver ever
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent $100.00 thinking that I was going to habe in my hands a very effective shaver. It’s a piece of garbage. It doesn’t do the job well. It leaves hair on my face. After this bad investment, I’m planning to return to the traditional shaving.

Excellent electric razor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using Norelco 3-head razors since I first started shaving almost 40 years ago. This is the first one I tried that has a full-floating head in addition to the 3 floating blade assemblies. And I like it a lot better! It gives a very close shave (closer than the others) in about half the time. The battery lasts a long time and there is an indicator that shows how much battery remains. Overall, I think this is an excellent razor,

Fastest shave I've ever had
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Generally speaking, I've stuck to foil designs for electric razors I've used in the past. They always seemed to work well enough, and I didn't see any reason to mess with a proven system. But recently I've noticed that my foil shaver has been disappointing me more and more, and figured it was time to give the rotary blades a shot. And wow, I have been missing out. This thing is fast. Ridiculously fast. You can feel the thing gathering up the stubble as you go, and you rarely need to do multiple passes to get it all. Which, admittedly, is a little less comfortable than the foil shavers but I'm more than willing to make that trade. I've really only noticed two downsides so far. The first is that that once the stubble gets past a certain length, it struggles to get hold of it. After coming back from a week long camping trip it was missing hairs left and right, leaving me with random patches of beard along my jawline and ears. I'd definitely recommend using the included trimmer attachment to get any stubble you might have as short as possible if you ever skip a couple of days. The second is that there are a lot of places for hair to get caught, making cleaning a little bit of a chore. Hopefully, that's something I can learn to improve on with time. Definitely recommend this razor to anyone who might have doubts about just how effective this style can be.

Close shave, great battery life!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This shaver gets just as close as a blade without the burn and irritation I have seen with other rotary shavers. It doesn’t pinch or bite the neck, and it works with two passes over an area instead of having to go over it numerous times. The battery lasts weeks!! I highly recommend as I have. It used a rotary that accomplishes the quality of shave this one does.

Best electric shaver ever created
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Philips Norelco - 6900 Wet/Dry Electric Shaver is frankly the best electric shaver I have ever used. I have never really been a standard blade + shaving cream kind of guy and have always used electric shavers so this is really saying a lot. All of the previous shavers I have used were dry only and I was hesitant to try using this new shaver in the shower with some old shave butter I had but was amazed by how smooth and easy the shave was. Dry shaving with this shaver is great as well so even if you don’t have the time to do a wet shave, this shaver gets the job done. I have relatively sensitive skin and have had problems in the past when switching to new electric shavers but so far, my skin has adjusted easily to this new shaver without any problems. The beard-styler attachment is a great bonus and it works extremely well, making it very easy to trim my beard and even mustache to the perfect length. Overall, I can’t imagine a shaver that could possibly be any better than this one and I highly recommend it!

Good shave for sensitive skin
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was blessed/cursed with sensitive skin, so I have to be very particular about my electric razor selection. If I go more than a day or two without shaving, I will end up with a lot of skin irritation when I do shave. After getting the Norelco 6900 I was instantly impressed by how close a shave I felt I got yet my skin was just fine afterwards. The next morning I tried a dry shave, it had only been a day of growth, but still a good test for the razor, and it did the job quickly cleanly, and left my skin feeling nice as well. Next was the big test, no shaving for the weekend ( any longer any my daughter complains I am scratchy and we cannot have that ). Again I was left very impressed, other than a few bumps on my neck It shaved the hair from a few days growth and left my skin feeling great. If you have sensitive skin, and are looking for a daily use electric razor that will leave you with a clean shave and skin, this is a great choice

Great Gift Idea
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best electric razor I ever used. Easily outshines my three prior Norelco razors, and is head and shoulders above my Panasonic. Closest shave of any electric razor that I ever owned, although no where near a blade. First electric razor with zero razor burn that I ever owned (even shaving dry). Cleaning is more difficult than earlier Norelcos, less intuitive. The separate trimmer attachment is easily lost, would have preferred a trimmer integral with the razor. Trimmer is also more difficult to clean than should be necessary. If mishandled, trimmer height attachment is easy to break off. Care required during cleaning. Manual warns of this issue without outright saying that this is the case.

Nice shave for an electric razor!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Compared to the electric razors I have used in the past, this one gets a much closer shave. It curves to the face, which makes it easier to get a smooth shave. What's nice compared no my manual razor is it seems no shaving cream is required (maybe pre-wetting skin, such as using after a shower, makes sense). However, I might suggest some sort of aftershave or skin moisturizer for the face afterward because I've noticed at least for me I wind up with skin that feels dry when I am done using it.

A very good middle of the road electric shaver...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the construction and materials. The shaving is great as long as you don't let your beard get too long. To remove and clean it is a snap literally. To swap the top works not too bad but nervous was going to break it. I was a little disappointed it was missing an edger or a cleaning brush. The charging stand is nice but a little small and almost too small but it works well and charging looks cool.

Still not better than an actual razor.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works, but I have to go over and over the same area multiple times to get a nice smooth shave. It doesn't square off the edges so it doesn't work to edge up my goatee or square off my sideburns.. I still have to use a razor to get those trimmed how I want them. It also doesn't like to trim longer hairs... if I go more than a couple of days without shaving it doesn't want to cut the hairs it just folds them over and glides over them without cutting. It's also kinda painful... it pulls my face hairs, and pinches and feels like it's nicking my skin. When used wet it feels better and doesn't pull/pinch/nick, but it dribbles all down my arm and onto my chest. It's nice to be able to use it wet, and it's nice to be able to rinse it off as I go, but it makes a mess, so you couldn't use it wet if you were trying to freshen up before a meeting at work, or anything else you might need to grab a quick shave for. I can get a better shave by using a disposable razor, which is also faster, easier to cut a sharp line with, and less messy.

Close and smooth shave all around!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I enjoy the shave I get with this little machine, nice and smooth and even cut all around. Plus the attachment it comes with to trim your beard works great! Overall I love this little guy since I shave in the shower and shave at the same time.

The best keeps getting better
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off I wanta say love the included charging stand. Wish other models come with this handy feature. Travel case alway welcomed as is 50 minute run time. Fully charges in one hour or five minutes for one shave. Shave wet or dry. Skin protect blades and click-on beard styler nice. Replacement heads available. Have used the liquid shaver head cleaner in the past. Have only used this brand all my life.

Not as good as a regular razor.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not a big fan of electric shavers. Mostly because they take several passes to get all the hair on my face and neck. This one is no exception. I had less than two days worth of stubble on my face, and this shaver had a hard time getting it all off. With a regular razor, it would take just a couple minutes, but with this electric razor, it took several more because I had to keep going over the same spots over and over and over. The shaver had been fully charged before use, and I tried using the both speeds, but it just wasn't cutting it, literally. I have normal facial hair, not coarse, or thick. This shaver struggled with it.
